We can’t underestimate Peyton’s effect on Tennessee football. His talent was one thing, but the players that came to Tennessee because of him was, to me, the biggest impact and what made us so strong at the time.
This is what I was going to say but decided to see if someone else had already said it. Not only the talent that came because of him but also his work ethic helped others.

And all teenage girls had to spend a summer working at putting in a garden, hoeing, pulling weeds, etc and then gathering the crops. And then spend the evening canning and preparing and cooking a meal from scratch.

Every tobacco farm I ever worked on as a young man had women cutting and spiking tobacco right alongside the men because everyone put out more than they could reasonably raise.

Also, I've hired and managed plenty of young folks and, assuming I've done a good job hiring and managing, they've mostly been fine. Very few, if any, of them ever spent a summer in a 'baccer patch.

I'd rather spend two weeks digging potatoes with a tractor and a hand held plow than spend one week picking cartons at an Amazon DC.

No sh$t! I was a manager there for 3 years. Lot of love/hate on amazon, but one thing most agree on is it’s a sh!tty work environment and a meat grinder.

He played 2 years but got hurt his second year. Barry Switzer went back to the wishbone with Jamelle Holloway (who was hanging around our tailgate when I saw UT play in Norman). They won the title that year, so Holloway was going to keep his job, and Aikman transferred. Wiki says Aikman was the first freshman QB to start at OU since WW2.
Pretty sure he took a beating in one of those match-ups against Miami, too, or at least I saw him getting sacked and thrown around on "The U" (30 for 30 on ESPN). Aikman just didn't fit the Switzer/Sooners offense back then, that's why he entered the "portal" and transferred to the Bruins. But, my point was that members of the Big 12 have won playoff games when QBs came from the Big 8

Yeah the article stated that they weren't counting anything before the big 12 formed in 1996.

Actually they have added another classification in Xennials. Being one I definitely agree we don’t fit the mold of Gen X or Millenials.

I definitely feel my grandparents generation who grew up during the Great Depression is the greatest generation ever. Their work ethic and pride is unmatched. That being said I would vote my generation of Xennials as the 2nd best.

Yep. It’s all on us.

I’m apparently a millennial and think categorically complaining about / praising the work ethic or toughness of an arbitrarily-grouped collection of people you’ve met approximately 0.0000001% of on the Internet is some of the softest **** I’ve ever seen.
Idk why but this made me think of this😂

It’s all in good fun. Lighten up.
