I think you're right. VQ guys have said for many months now it's a real possibility, that Pruitt would pursue Hurts. I'm guessing that has been the plan for awhile. It could change of course with all the coaching changes out there but I think there's a good chance he's a Vol.Call me crazy but I think Pruitt and Chaney have a really good chance of getting Hurts to UT.
Unfortunately I think SEC championship game opened up a ton of options for him. If Oklahoma comes calling there’s no way he should turn it down.I think you're right. Not much. Chaney stuff, $ was a big raise, family in area, likes Knoxville, etc...Pruitt has had multiple conversations with Tee Martin and he has many options right now so we'll see. Richmond and JJ had NFL evals both are 50/50 on returning, Monday is deadline. They expect more attrition but not until after spring most likely.Did VQ have any team or staff news?

If not Hurts, I think taking another grad transfer QB seems like a bad idea. Might be better to let one of the young guys get his feet wet if JG gets hurt rather than bringing in another mediocre QB like Chryst.Someone asked if we'll go for any grad transfers this year and Hubbs said this morning that they will likely only pursue a QB grad transfer.
So if not Hurts, someone will be joining the QB room.
We might need a TE if Wolf indeed leaves. Assuming the two Freshmen won’t be ready, we only have DWA. Others on the roster aren’t good amd we should find help thereSomeone asked if we'll go for any grad transfers this year and Hubbs said this morning that they will likely only pursue a QB grad transfer.

If Rattler is going to win the job, Kendall would be an excellent option. There are rumors he may transfer anyway and he is already a graduate. He almost beat out Murray last year. He was committed here for almost a year and is from NC. I think that is another one Butch botched.Doubt Oklahoma goes that route. They need a passer first runner 2nd. Spencer Rattler can be a day 1 starter in that offense and that league imo.
Similar to why I don't think he fits us. We want a passer who can run not a runner who can pass. He has improved but I still wouldn't be comfortable trusting him slinging ball around 20+ times a game as I would be a JG. Chaney can adapt to whatever but I think Chaney would like to work with a guy like JG
Butch may just stay at bama as WR coach. That was the buzz early on.
I completely agree, unless they don't think Shrout or Maurer can play this year.I don't think you take a grad transfer QB if its not to be the starter. Next years class will be critical in getting this team back and they need every single scholarship. With the instate talent and a likely decent year record wise, it should be a top 5 class.
Jake, not singling you out, but I am using your post as the example… This post shows how much Pat’s legacy is already tarnished by Holly’s trash coaching. I would venture to guess 10 to 15 years ago when Pat was still in her prime, we would’ve never read a post similar to this. Well, unless it was @bignewt posting, but his posts are worthless anyways.agree....mostly. it's important to Tennessee, and Summit left a legacy and tradition. not bad things.
i do think it's a bit crazy to hash out the women's bball coach like we do, but this program has a large following, for the sport, and it's important to them. they react to bad coaching like we do to football. and Tennessee has embraced women's bball....as they should.
but it's an unrealistic expectation to put any coach we have up against Pat. if we have a top 25 women's bball program, i'm probably going to be satisfied. if we don't, i probably won't lose any sleep over it. if we play in the final four or title game, i'll watch. if we're not playing it, i'm not watching women's bball.
otherwise, go lady vols....
