The shut down thread

So you're basically saying you are for open borders.

Obviously if BP can't respond fast enough with a wall you should agree it is nonsense to argue BP can respond fast enough without a wall.
lol. this is once again how I know I am doing a good job.

I am not at all for open borders. if you want to come here you should be documented. A wall is just a terrible way to go about it.

if the response time of the BP is too slow, the problem isn't with a wall or the lack there of. the problem is the number of BP we have. That would be the direction I would start with securing our borders.

the current number of agents is apparently insufficient. this adds walls, which are going to be patrolled just as often as the border is now. so we are still at the same problem. not enough people manning the walls/border. making the new walls even less beneficent than they otherwise would be.

they traveled thousands of miles, adding a few vertical feet of travel distance isn't going to do anything.

sure add more border agents, thats not the argument being made.
ill make it and have said it before. The partial wall was set up to create funnel points to make the staff they had more effective. That was the voiced reasoning anyway. But they aren’t there at those funnel points 24/7.

tell it to Trump. American jobs, protecting America's border. also probably very few liberal BP agents, this goes straight after his target audience.

A wall is a terrible way to go about it, because you say so?

No one is suggesting we build a wall and then eliminate BP agents.

We're saying a wall makes our BP more effective at stopping illegal crossings.

Sections of the fence on the Mexico border, like this one near San Miguel, Ariz., are designed primarily to stop vehicles.

WTF else would they stop?

Yea, it is the desert. How else are they going to make it. They find dead bodies there all the time.

It’s not as expensive as sending foreign aid to countries that do squat for the US either.

I always assumed that Trump intended to reduce foreign aid (graft and waste) to pay for the wall ... Mexico and some other countries who won't control their outflow would have their allowance docked. I never thought that Mexico would stand in line to pay for a wall from which they would derive no benefit ... only a fool would wrap his head around that (I don't think the VN gang - either side - are really foolish enough to buy the literal statement). I'm guessing congress won't let the administration play with funding,, and that it's too late for the Obama shovel ready projects.

LOL, what compromise has Trump offered? He's clearly stated it's his way or the highway. That's not a compromise, its dictation. You red hats would be well served to remember that the presidency isn't a monarchy where monetary decrees from the King are absolute. Your House of representatives has said NO and offered him an actual compromise that was agreed upon by the GOP Senate.

Your analogy remains flawed, the car salesman doesn't get to storm out and expect the guy writing the check to cow down. As stated, throwing tantrums is a lousy negotiating tactic, Mr. Art of the Deal is getting schooled because he has no idea how Washington works.

What actual compromise have the Dims made? How many temporary spending bills has Trump agreed to, and how many have resulted in the DIms compromising. Pelosi sat in the meeting and said "nyet", comrade.
