Can we lay to rest the...

So then Charlotte was cosching to correct...and Vandy and all the other 26 point losses? Hard to figure how thats and overall good job. We looked very good against Auburn and no I dont care how we won, but let's not forget that we are a wide open dropped pass from being 4-8. For whatever reason, he wasn't able to get his team to perform that was in 9 other games. Therefore not a good job.

And your a play away from beating SC.

For whatever reason lets just overlook that for the agenda.

False.

Pruitt took the worst Tennessee team in history and in year 1:

-Improved the win total, while implementing a new system

-Improved the conference win total by 2 games

-Beat 2 Top 25 teams

-Improved in basically every statistic

-Did all this against a MUCH tougher schedule than the 4-8 team

That’s a good job of coaching, no matter how you spin it.
Lol....Butch had us at the lowest point in the history of UT football. There was no place to go but up. We could have hired some high school coaches and had improvement over what Butch did last year.

Chalking up the season to Charlotte or Vandy is just as silly as chalking it up to AU or UK.

You can't harp on one and ignore the other.

They were a 5 or 6 win team and missed closing out SC for the 6th.

The multiple blowout losses give me pause in declaring CJP the next coming of the General. Way to early to make the call whether CJP has the stuff or not, right now the measurables are not in his favor.

So you are saying most expected 6-6? Then again, glad we agree he didnt do a good job in year one.
You argue just for the sake of arguing. That's why people are always on you. What did you expect? An undefeated year? He did the best with the talent he had imo

No agenda, by either benchmark, he didnt do a good job in year one. We can make up stuff tp say he did tp make us have more hope for the future, but that doesnt make it true.

Thats a quick jump. Who has declared him Robert Neyland?

Totally agree with the bold.

I didnt compare it to last year. Glad you are happy with 5-7 and a team that looked like trash in 9 of 11 games
A far out assumption that any fan is "happy" with a 5-7 season. One can be "happy" that there was improvement ove the previous year and that we did beat Auburn and Kentucky who had there best football team in ages. I am also happy that last night Alabama looked similar to the way Tennessee looked during some of their games last year. One has to remember that Alabama is rated as having the most talentt of all the NCAA teams and they looked like crap even though they have the best coach and the best talent in College football. Whether you want to believe it or not, Tennessee was better in 2018 than they were in in 2017 and they will be better in 2019 they they were in 2018. However, I suspect that you are to much of a troll to admit to anything which might indicate that any progress is being made to rebuild Tennessee's football program.

Lol.
Yeah, I know better.

Im waiting for the next set of comments that Pruitt didn't make in regards to his players as well.

Clemson has 5 stars at every position too.

Pruitt.did not do a good coaching job this year. Maybe it improves next year, maybe it doesnt but noone here is stopping him from doing his job.
Your outlook is always so interestingly tilted.

His agenda is only to have a different opinion than anyone else. He's a very contrite person.
Funny, there's a thread preseason with folks saying...

Good coach away from being a very good team
Pruitt should be fired if he only wins 5 games
Etc. ...

And those are the folks that I need to agree with to be " popular?"... Lol, yeah no thanks. No position has been constant, I dont change it when the wind blows.

In my opinion there would be two benchmarks to judge him by in his first year, win/loss and overall team performance.
For instance I expected a 6-6 season and would have been happy with that regardless of how it was achieved, we didnt.
Then I look at overall team performance. Say we lose 7 or even 8 games but the team is competative in most of those and looks like a competent team that just falls short or is competative until the fourth. I would consider that a pretty good year.,

Either was the case, in 9 of 11 games we looked liked absolute trash. Charlotte pushed us around and luckily we scored a st touchdown.

The same can be said for Butches tenure. Even though we string together.some wins, you could just.watch their performance and tell that something just wasnt right.

So whether you agree or disagree with me, you can at least acknowledge that my position is reasonable.

It's obvious that good coaches don't need 5 star players or a talent advantage at every spot.

Just look at what Vandy and Missouri did to TN to end last season with fewer highly rated players.
And we know who you wanted for the HC, so statement is also interestingly tilted.

Alabama looked like crap against the number one team in the country that has played for 4 straight national championships. Tennessee looked like trash against Charlotte and Vandy.
The improvement this year is debatable, with both sides having logical arguments.
The discussion was Pruitts performance in his first year, that too is debatable with both sides having logical arguments and of course, you know my opinion.
