Bama over a 7 year avg not including this year is ranked 19 in total offense. They were in the 30s in 2011, and 2013. And still dominated. Why? Because no one can score on them. This isn’t the big 12 were you have shoot outs with the opposing team. In the SEC both sides of the ball have to compliment each other. So I’ll take Chaney’s 50th ranked offense here anyway as long as our defense is stout. Plus let’s be honest. We are on a whole new level in terms of recruiting, than we were in 2012. Chaney’s offense has been top 10 the past two seasons at Georgia. He knows what he’s doing.

Yes, it's a huge improvement from now. But now is not the standard. Nor should 57th in the country.

We can't have a top 25 offense by year 3?? Butch and Debord did.

Not top 10. At least look up stats first. 14th this year and 20th last year, after a couple top-3 classes. We getting those too? He'd have to do more with quite a bit less here. But why expect that? He never outproduces his talent.

We may have a top 25 offense in year 3 but maybe not. It's not BVS. It's facts that you just ignore. Butch left this program in much worse shape than any coach in UTs history. There is no denying that or debate.

You seem to be one of those who believe that we are TN and shouldn't accept mediocrity. Well how are we accepting mediocrity by hiring a proven OC?

How did his offenses rank in the SEC? Also, what other offense has had Bama on their heels for the past 2 years other than Chaneys?

So, what would compel Chaney to leave a title contending team for UT? Other than history with the program (different coach)?

He also plays in a conference and team that believes in putting scholarship players on defense.

If UT doesnt have a top 25 offense in 3 years, a monumental mistake has been made. Our OL isnt good, but that's only 5 guys that have to be replaced. You can do that in ONE recruiting class. The rest of the offense is fine.
