I don't understand how it's mentioned Chaney was unhappy about being Co-OC at UGA, but he's going to come here and be a Co-OC?

I think Chaney doesn't like that he lost QBs and Coley is basically being groomed to replace him right in front of his face. He also generally likes this area more and will make more money here. I think Chaney is less upset about a co-OC situation if he's making Helton money and in an area he himself has mentioned as a place he wants to live again.

I could also see Friend or Nieds doing RBs and letting Tee have QBs...if that's a hangup. I'd be fine with just adding Chaney and keeping the rest of the staff as is, felt like our biggest offensive woes were lesser OL play (which to me is more about attrition and not having the talent as deep) and Helton's shortcomings as a play caller. Felt like the WRs and RBs did fine, with better blocking they would have had even better numbers. TEs probably didn't produce as much as we'd like, but also were limited because they had to block more to try and help the OL.

I think Tee or Chaney coaching QBs is an upgrade over Helton as well.
I think Chaney is the QB if you hire him. If Weinke leaves you just plug Tee in at RBs if you get him.

Pruitt could have hired any of these names being tossed around weeks ago... and didn't. And they're all available to take the job immediately... and haven't. So either Pruitt is hesitant, they're hesitant or both sides have reservations. Money's not slowing things down, but something is.

Possibly. You have to feel pretty good about Tee as an OC today to predetermine that.
I wouldn’t say it’s predetermined but seems logical that Tee is your safety blanket.

I’m not as down on Tee as everyone else is as an offensive coordinator. I wouldn’t hire him in that position this season but I also don’t think the USC offense was a result of anything he was doing. That’s been Clay Heltons offense since he got there and they have struggled as a result.

"how many of my guys can I pick?"

Any time you hire a big time OC/DC this is the hold up always, bank on that. If it's Chaney then he's either feeling out existing staff (don't forget a lot of them are also in San Antonio right now too) and deciding if he would like to make any changes and then Pruitt & Co. are negotiating who they would allow him to replace.
