How so? He would have got OK DC even if he stayed at Wash St. Riley was well aware of him. Heck everyone knew about him. He basically took a demotion and got promoted back to same job he was doing before. Imo he thought he was going to be Ohio st DC this next yr under Urban and then that went to crap once Day got job

Chaney was directly responsible for recruiting Justin Fields, Fromm, Eason, Cade & Swift for UGA. Obviously they havent all worked out for UGA but he did convince them to sign there. He is an elite recruiter & it is completely baffling to see people thinking we deserve a Saban level OC just because lol. Chaney would be an absolute home run for this program.

Eason committed when Schottenheimer was the OC. He was primed to flip when Richt was fired, so maybe Chaney gets credit for keeping him on board.

Chaney is a safer hire...he can help stablize the offense get you 8-10 wins and if Pruitt can turn the defense elite you're in a similar spot as Georgia. Will take longer though to get there.


Sark is higher risk/higher reward. Risk because he could Helton us and we're right back here next year. He seems to want a NFL gig, but must have some personality clash issues he had Atlanta's offense doing well despite having the #1 RB on IR.
