Are u really ignoring where this spread airraid formation sprung from? If it was the way you claim then colleges and a quarter of the nfl wouldnt be running these concepts and DC's would have figured it out and shut it down.

Leach and Mumme stole some concepts from Lavell Edwards, tweaked them, High school coaches picked up on it, Tony Franklin developed an easy dvd 3 day installation system and marketed it, it exploded in Texas along with 7 on 7 tournaments, experienced players filtered up to the growing number of colleges adopting it, Mix in a little Malzahn, Rich Rod, and RPO... and there you have the evolution of modern football

You're welcome, now take a lap

You can't tell me to take a lap. I'm Charlie Kelly. Dennis revolutionized that saying.

So Grinch means Schiano getting the boot or what?

Edit retarded, oklahoma , for some reason I read it as ohio state

honestly, i think that'd be a pretty good finish. getting Wright and Moore. i don't think anyone would balk at Russell at this point, and i have always liked Robinson. i think he could be a player.

Griffin is a project, but whatever.

Another great DL prospect is missing from this class. Moore makes it a quality finish and a well-rounded class.

Every NFL team is trying to find the next Sean Mcvay and catch lightning in a bottle. JP may be attempting to do the same thing and find the next Mcvay, Kingsbury, or Kiffin in the form of Lebby. (At least this is what I'm going to tell myself)

Honest question. Have we reached the point of worrying about Pruitt’s ability to hire an offensive staff? When you look at this defensive staff, it’s elite because that’s what he knows. Just curious what y’all think. I’m kinda torn on it as I think it through.
IMO, this has moved slowly because Pruitt wants to make changes and is exploring options. He's not an offensive guy, so he's probably feeling his way around what he wants and what he thinks will work best. Fulmer encouraged Pruitt to talk to people to get ideas on offensive schemes and improving offensive production. Saban did that, too. It's good advice, and it looks like Pruitt's taking it to heart. I think they meant to move quicker-- just didn't work out that way.

We are waiting till the coaches convention like every other major program where we will set up a booth to take resumes
Here is our booth.

All that is fine, but we're almost out of the dead period and we're still looking for an OC. Considering they've basically known Helton was leaving since November, I find that a bit inexcusable.

I agree with OrangeParm: hard not to feel like maybe he wasn't ready for the job.

The reality is that this offensive line is and has been one of the absolute worst in major college football for years. The advanced stats and metrics really flesh that out.

It may hurt the ego of some to hear it, but if you are an OC with options, UT is likely toward the bottom of your list. You are worried that the offensive talent here will ruin your career and make you look worse than you are.

Has a great OL coach, terrific WR coach, promoted a guy to RB coach that is highly thought of offensively. And the TE coach may be one of the greatest recruiters we've had...

Pruitt had groomed a list of potential OC guys prior to being a HC. Helton was supposed to be the right guy, I think after butting heads most the season and Helton bolting after a lackluster year JP is being more selective this time.

We really needed yurcich to work out. We're in a vicious cycle of replacing mediocre OCs with more mediocre OCs every year.
I wanted Yurcich, no denying that. But if he done an even halfway decent job, we were getting Kiffin'd as soon as the Buckeye call came.
Given that result, I wonder if it's better that it happened beforehand.

I’m not going to list the programs who have made HC and coordinator hires while we’ve been vacant.
No need. The problem is your assuming that making a quick hire is making the right hire then drawing the conclusion that a head coach that doesn't make a quick hire is not capable of being a coach. Let's just say I disagree.

Yeah because we have a game coming up! Oh wait...

only if you allow it to be....it's a choice.

It’s a good hire for the Sooners.
Definitely not disagreeing. Don’t know if he transcends the level of the conference he works in tho. He’ll have more talent to work with than at Washington State, but Ohio State had no issues in that department and they had some slippages along the way. That more on Schiano?

I honestly am happy that Pruitt isn't rushing the hire. Give me the right hire over a rushed "Dooley type" hire.

The Dooley hire was rushed because of the timing of Kiffin’s departure. It is possible that Pruitt knew of Helton’s departure well before the season ended. We are assuming other coaches are going to be willing to leave their current positions into possibly February, not to mention the current state of our program. Kiffin caught some flack for leaving UT so late in the process. There are a lot of questions
