If they don't retain Kitchens they don't get to decide who he interviews with. They can't have it both ways. That restriction only lasts until his status with the Browns is settled.

Agreed, but that may be a little while. They have to hire the HC first and are still interviewing for HC next week.

it's almost as if CPF and CJP don't know how the hiring process works....they're just kind of dragging their feet. No urgency whatsoever....I was ok at first but now I am getting impatient because other teams are making staff hires.

When you think about it, there's really no reason to get in a hurry now. This class is basically done and we're only looking at maybe six more guys to fill the class. We're certainly not game planning and our players belong to the S&C staff. Pruitt knows the importance of this hire and he doesn't appear to be in a hurry. We'll know when he wants us to know.

After all of this, after Freeze and 1,000 others, Yurcich, after Sark, if Pruitt defaults to Friend (who didn't want it originally), this will be a complete fail in my book. You have all these options to bring in someone good that could improve/jumpstart this offense and attract higher-tier recruits, and you go back and promote within?

Looks hella lazy. Oh well, Pruitt is about to take a huge chance with the fanbase on this one if it is Friend... I hope for his sake it somehow works out because he is about to open himself up to serious, and warranted criticism if it doesn't work out... Helton to Friend... hmm... if so, good luck, cause no one should be giving him a pass after this, looks a bit weak to me, and very surprised if Fulmer is signing off on this. Time will tell!

Still trying to figure out what makes him tick. It's been said, he wants a head coach position in the MAC but then he takes a step down to be a QB coach at OSU. Gundy really must be pissed at him because he said he could not offer him the kind of money other schools were offering. Then he moves down in status for $150K raise. I'm sure Gundy could find $150K to keep him as an OC, if he wanted to fight for him. Something doesn't pass the smell test here.
