There is no way of ever proving that and it’s just as likely that some of those would have committed regardless of the coach at UT. It is also plausible that we may have missed on recruits because we had no OC. Players want to know who their coach is going to be

Hard to miss on something that was 100% which was all of the personnel committed to Tennessee who were signing early signed and we didn’t lose a single one..... even got Melvin McBride who we were supposed to lose to Arkansas.... hmmm

I must’ve watched a different season. I remember an o-line that didn’t know who to block.

Also, I will never forget how big Cromptons eyes where every time he would dip back.
Cromtpton was good that year and hardest had like 1500 yards. Our offensive line was good.

And there it is... concession

The search has finally beaten us down enough to where we would be happy with a guy in the SEC who has never called plays outside of juco

No, I’m not conceding anything except I don’t know how to hire an OC for a major CF program. I don’t know Pruitt, how he thinks or what he needs. I have a VERY limited knowledge of football offenses. I have an idea but that’s it. In the end, who CJP wants is most important. Not what I think. 👊🏼

Harrison Bailey is a 2020 commit....that ish ain't written in stone. OL ain't too concerned with the OC. CJP can tell Wright that we are running power football...and he can be ok with that. Where are the some playmakers want to know what kind of offense you will be running.

Guess we didn’t get Eric Gray.... oh wait....

Basically you just said Pruitt should be worried about what you think because you don’t like the fact that he hasn’t told you not to worry that a coach will be in place before the spring....

How about you just do that? Don’t worry and a coach will be in before the spring.

Never said he should worry about me but quit being astonished that part of being in management is managing public perception. That isn’t some new revelation and companies pay large sums of money to do so. We aren’t a company per se but similar

That may be true, but there may not be any Quality OCs left to get a spring ball coaches fire sale. Just Saying!

I think Pruitt needs to hire whoever he feels is going to be most successful in the position, but if he hires Osovet expect the narrative to be that he’s wrong until he’s proven right.

I agree. But that’s been the narrative since Fulmer so I don’t see it changing no matter who Pruitt hires.

Yeah Haselwood said yesterday that he wasn’t worried at all about our OC situation. He knows we will throw more. George Pickens basically said the same. It has not caused any problems so far.

Exactly my point. Every time has to throw the ball. Every team needs playmakers. All any recruit has to do is look at our roster and know that they have a chance to start if they are good enough.

Eric Gray doesn't fit your narrative, so, I guess, that's why you're failing to mention him...hoping we won't notice.

He could make a statement and the moment the first interview was over the media and public would have rumors flying. Our biggest issue is we take everything someone says and treat it as truth. Ideally we have an OC before the dead period ends.

Don’t disagree and speculation can’t be avoided but you can certainly do a much better job of managing expectations

It’s unlikely he signs with UT so that is irrelevant, neither will Pickens. If both sign elsewhere, does that really prove your point?

Clawson would have been a good hire if Fulmer had let Clawson run Clawson’s offense. You could see Fulmer’s finger prints all over what Clawson was trying to do. Clawson’s offense has been successful everywhere but here.
Just like Shoop last year!!!

What would the volnation response be if Gundy hired Osovet as his OC (from another google search like he did Yurcich) before we did? Does somebody else have to want our OC before we can approve? Is Pruitt thinking it's a good decision important?

Well we weren’t getting Haselwood with a new OC either, and have moved up his list since we lost ours. So does it hurt it?

No doubt but it’s funny how this can keeps getting kicked down the road.

“Everything’s fine, just need to make a hire to recruit before NSD.”

“Everything’s cool, just need to hire someone after the early signing period.”

“It’s all good, just get somebody in before the end of the dead period.”

“Totally fine - just need somebody before Feb signing day.”

“Well really we only need an OC to start spring practice.”

😂😂
