Oh no i get it don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing like it but i don’t think watching a 3 hour football should cost the same as a week in a Vegas hotel.
yep. it's the reaosn we only go to one game a year. factor in travelling in for a game, and you're well over a grand for two days in Knoxville.

These stats only make me think he'd get an NFL offer. Reports are he is looking at NFL deals first.
That’s what I’m hearing as well. He’s hoping to get another NFL job. It makes sense who wants to go back and recruit and not really have an off season like the NFL...as a jets fan i would def be open to him as OC.

I’m also interested in the ratings result after the game to see if the Bama/Clemson fatigue is real. I certainly don’t care anymore and didn’t even realize it was this coming Monday. If it were a more interesting match-up I might change plans, but as it stands I have family obligations and better things to do.
🤔..."more interesting match-up..."

Not sure I understand your reasoning. Granted, I want to see Tennessee there and it would be nice to see other teams being more competitive. But to say the game is not interesting, given that these are THE two best teams out there right now, is irrational. Or, maybe you just do not like watching a good college football game unless your team is playing. To each, their own.

Don't get me wrong, the same teams playing for the championship over and over can get discouraging, especially if it's not the VOLS! But until other teams step up, it will continue to be more of the same. Maybe I am being irrational, because I love watching a great college football game, no matter the match-up. Unfortunately, it is not who I want to see there...but SOON😏😜🤞! Go Vols!

Between this and the massive ratings drop I’d say college football is not meant for playoffs. I’ll be glad when it’s changed. More games is not the answer.

That’s a very long trip for either of those fan bases to make, especially on only a weeks notice. Plus factor in short notice airline tickets and hotel prices in Bay Area.

I love attending games but it would be hard to attend a conference championship game, semi final game, and then national championship game all within a month.

If they ever add another round it really needs to be on campus.

I understand these arguments, but it the other options are guys like Osovet with no real track record then which is the better choice?

With this hire and this current staff my only goal is to rebuild and get back to 9-10 wins in the next 2 years. We are back to Dooley level goals, and if Butch can get to 9 with boring hire DeBord then Sark should be fine.

Yes. Once again, the first step is to make sure we don’t have players spend 4 years in the program and never even play Vandy close. 🤮

yup. average joe fan isn't going to all three unless they're digging a credit hole or dropping a large part of their life savings lol.

and Bama and Clemson are doing it EVERY year. they're going to bankrupt their respective home states' citezens if they keep this up.....lol.

No, I just really don’t care. Bama or Clemson will win another NC on Monday. I can miss something I’ve seen the last few years and will probably see next year too.

I can read about it on Tuesday or watch it on replay...but I’m not changing family plans around it just because the same two teams are, once again, the best in the country.

A rerun is a rerun no matter how good. Even Bama fans speak of being bored by it.

Especially thinking your team will keep being in the game for years to come.

The lack of ticket interest may also be due to Santa Clara being a college football desert. Nearby Stanford almost never has big crowds for home games, and the PAC-12 Championship Game in that stadium only drew 35,000 this year.

I hate the Cowboys, but one thing always confuses me about people discrediting Emmitt Smith.

If you survey 1000 NFL fans on who the best receiver in history was, the overwhelming majority would say Jerry Rice without hesitation. They'd cite all his records, and super bowls.

Oddly though, that logic doesn't seem to apply to Emmitt Smith. NFL's all time leading rusher, NFL's all time rushing touchdown leader, 3 time super bowl winner, Super Bowl MVP, NFL regular season MVP, list goes on....

Did he play on better teams? Sure, but look at the Cowboys record in games during that era where Emmitt didn't play. It's less than .500. Did he have a great offensive line? I guess so - they were huge. But outside of Larry Allen (who was a rookie in 1994 and Emmitt was already well established at that point) how many of those guys are in the hall of fame or even get HOF consideration? None.

Didn't Jerry Rice benefit from playing his entire career with back to back hall of fame QB's, including someone some people consider the best QB in NFL history in Montana? Or playing for Bill Walsh, who literally revolutionized the NFL with the west coast offense?

Just seems odd to me.
Moss > Rice

What is sad is you can bet that a fan base that has waited to be relevant again would gladly drop coin to go to all three, no matter the location. If it were Tennessee for instance, there would be orange everywhere and ticket prices would be through the roof simply because we don’t know when we would get the opportunity again.

For Bama and Clemson, most fans have seen it a lot lately and know they can go next year too. Why spend money now to go to a game far away when you know you can go to next year too, for cheaper?

A lot of people disagree it is happening or an issue, but IMO the lack of parity in CFB and uneven playing field is a big part of this.
