(*to change the subject*)
Saw a poll on Twitter earlier, and wanted to get VN's reaction to it.
"Your NFL team can have any one of the following, fresh out of college, for the next decade. Who do you pick??"
Emmitt Smith
Barry Sanders
Jim Brown
Walter Payton
Eric Dickerson
Adrian Peterson
LaDainian Tomlinson
I'll hang up and listen.
-SimontonIn no specific order, my Top 10 from this week: Evan Neal, Darnell Wright, Antonio Alfano, Nolan Smith, George Pickens, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Chris Hinton, Tyrique Stephenson, Cam Smith and Jameson Williams.
One extra: Only saw him today but Texas A&M DT DeMarvin Leal is a beast. Dude is going to be a household name in SEC. He was unblockable during OL/DL drills and then after practice was running routes better than some of the TEs here.

Between this and the massive ratings drop I’d say college football is not meant for playoffs. I’ll be glad when it’s changed. More games is not the answer.
some of us value the game day ambiance that doesnt include listening to Garys dumb ass. watching the 2016 Florida game from section M is an experience I'll never forget. watching us beat uga in 2015 from home is an experience I did forget.Ticket prices are ridiculous anyway for a family of 4 to watch a game at Neyland you’ll be laying grand. Then it’s an all day event. Why do that when you can have friends over and play 100$ for all the pizza and beer you can drink and watch other games too?

Good questions. I personally think Emmit is a goat but I like Payton better. I also dislike the Cowboys which doesn't help him imo.I hate the Cowboys, but one thing always confuses me about people discrediting Emmitt Smith.
If you survey 1000 NFL fans on who the best receiver in history was, the overwhelming majority would say Jerry Rice without hesitation. They'd cite all his records, and super bowls.
Oddly though, that logic doesn't seem to apply to Emmitt Smith. NFL's all time leading rusher, NFL's all time rushing touchdown leader, 3 time super bowl winner, Super Bowl MVP, NFL regular season MVP, list goes on....
Did he play on better teams? Sure, but look at the Cowboys record in games during that era where Emmitt didn't play. It's less than .500. Did he have a great offensive line? I guess so - they were huge. But outside of Larry Allen (who was a rookie in 1994 and Emmitt was already well established at that point) how many of those guys are in the hall of fame or even get HOF consideration? None.
Didn't Jerry Rice benefit from playing his entire career with back to back hall of fame QB's, including someone some people consider the best QB in NFL history in Montana? Or playing for Bill Walsh, who literally revolutionized the NFL with the west coast offense?
Just seems odd to me.

2 teams from the south have to travel to California for the championship game. Fans aint got time for that.
They should somehow figure a more central location in the future.
