(*to change the subject*)

Saw a poll on Twitter earlier, and wanted to get VN's reaction to it.

"Your NFL team can have any one of the following, fresh out of college, for the next decade. Who do you pick??"

Emmitt Smith
Barry Sanders
Jim Brown
Walter Payton
Eric Dickerson
Adrian Peterson
LaDainian Tomlinson

I'll hang up and listen.
I hate the Cowboys, but I’ll take Emmitt. He won 3 championships!!!!!!!!! The others combined won 2

Matt Ryan has more weapons than any NFL qb and still manages to look like an average qb much of the time. It’s always someone else’s fault with him. He will never win a Super Bowl. It doesn’t matter how many coaches they fire. What would Rogers, Brady, Rivers, or Brees do with his weapons yet he makes as much if not more than all of them.

He appears to have a trend of struggling with a new coordinator. His dumbass even butted heads with Shanahan yr 1 until he finally quit being a douche and listened to what perhaps the best play caller football was telling him.

Did his part better than the others.

If Barry Sanders and Emmitt switched places and Barry had played on those Cowboy teams with those OLs...deer lord I cannot imagine how many yards he would have had. 😲 He played behind horrid OLs on horrid teams. Emmitt would have been toast on those Detroit teams.

Sadly that article points out the biggest issue. He struggled against good Ds and the stats that got him that 4th ranking were put up against weak Ds.

We really can’t afford to hire a guy that can’t out coach strong defense. I don’t care if he can score 200 points against the little sisters of the poor. If he can’t manage more than 10pts against Bama or UGA then it’s very unlikely we will beat them.

Jim Brown was a punisher. Never ran out of bounds on his own accord like players today. He lowered his head and tried to hit harder than he was going to get hit.
I like both better....but I’ll take the rings.

Payton was similar. His philosophy with hits was that it's better to give than to receive. His choice was always to deliver the hit. He believed that was easier on his body, too.

Never got to see Brown (before my time), but got to see each of the others play. I would honestly take Emmitt. I hate to say it.....but true. Jmo.......rings or not.
