“People that usually operate in excellence are not overweight”

I mean, just wow
Is there a particular cutoff for BMI? Like 25 to 29.9 is the “Overweight” range. Is it a hard 24.9 where you stop operating with excellence, or is there a bit of a cushion if you are, say, 25.3?

Makes what Bill Belichick has done all the more impressive, overcoming that.

Not really. But the backup is always sexier.
there's a reason they're probably willing to let Chaney go. and why they gave Corley the raise and new title.....they'r enot letting that guy get out of Athens. if we hired him away from UGA, that'd be stealing.

Chaney wasn't the problem while he was here... I actually enjoyed the offense most of the time. The defenses were so bad that they were just forced into the pressure of having to score literally every time, or come from behind to have a chance to win a game.

Yeah I do remember that part now. Just trying to remember the circumstances when he left and why I have a memory of VN being glad when he left. But I could be thinking of someone else entirely. Just to make it clear I will be 100% supportive of our new OC. Just having a discussion with my VN bro's and sista's.

i don't know that i'd say they were disinterested. i do think the enthusiasm level was considerably lower than UTjr's.

felt like everyone was looking around at each other waiting for "someone else" to make a play or two that would ultimately win the game for them. the classic "roll our helmets out on the field" type game.

i think there are some locker room issues in Athens. couple high profile freshmen appear to be leaving. maybe some uncertaintly on the staff....
i'll just say this....that team that showed up last night may be uber talented, but they had ZERO leadership.
Fromm let them down, and nobody picked up the slack. Reminded me of the notorious Memphis State game.

I have a serious question for the group. Forget about the tight lid on this OC search but does anyone get the impression that Pruitt doesn't give a rats ass about any fan base? He doesn't let any of his coaches talk to the media and he will barely talk to the media himself. I get the impression that he would just prefer to be a coach and not have to deal with any outside distractions. I don't think he understands the passion this fan base has for UT football. I don't think he's gonna change either---we have what we have so lets just hope he can get it done on the field.
Hasn’t this been obvious since Pruitt was hired. Recruit. Coach. Win. Repeat. Nothing else matters.

How do you know Smart is "willing to let him go"? Hubbs said that's not the case, Smart wants to keep Cheney.

They gave Coley a raise and title to keep him. Good programs want to keep as many good coaches on staff as possible.

that was a team effort. the o line didn't protect him, WR's dropped sure fire completions. RB's fumbled. Punters took knees. lol.

it's apparent to me that the preperation for that game was lacking, and that's an indication of a lack of leadership in that lockeroom.

How long can he keep him and Coley both is the question. I think Smart wants to keep JC around for now.

How could Hubbs possibly know that? Cmon Ron!

tea leaves. why let his contract basically expire? if they want him so bad, why not get his contract done a month ago? two months ago? over the summer?

and remember...this is all speculation....cause speculation is supposed to be "fun".....
lol.

Pittman showed up at UT in Chaney’s last season...before that NADA connection. They’ve joined brand new coaching staffs twice since then. Two different HC’s PREFERRED to hire them. They don’t vacation together or name their dogs after each other. They work well both with each other and without. Chaney will leave eventually if not this season. Pittman retires in Athens.
I can definitely see that. I read somewhere Chaney loves East TN and wants to retire here. Pittman has a perfect setup in Athens and I don't see him leaving either. Are you sure about the dog thing? I'm not that informed.... :)

Maybe they tried to give him an extension and he didn't want it? If we're speculating and all...

I was just talking about from the leadership aspect. It's hard to be a leader when you are playing badly. He let them down by playing his worst game of the year, at the worst time, snd nobody could pick up the slack. I'm not totally blaming it on him, just saying his struggles last night seemed to perpetuate the leadership vacuum...I mean here is Mr Reliable being completely unreliable.
