well, they don't. but the only thing that all the different media outlets have reported that's the same is that we're not hiring from within. it's been reported multiple times that Friend doesn't even want the job.

if we were going to promote from within, then you're probably looking at Osovet or Weinke. and if that were to happen, that probably means we're down to like Plan T.......because were not hiring from within.

The Tim Tebow teams that he stepped over to get this run going, were more physically talented. As was the LSU team Bama obliterated in that rematch title game. I’m sure there are several other examples, but he built a beast so quickly it’s hard to tell.

yeah, i mean if you're looking for fit/chemistry/trust............i would imagine Friend is probably at the top of that list. so if it was going to be a promotion, it would have happened a long time ago.

I want to believe but that is nothing more than speculation. Pruitt has never stated that he wouldn’t promote from within and he is clearly in no hurry to make a hire which suggests that he has already made one. If it were anyone outside of UT it would have already leaked

So the speculation as to why you dont take an hour to ink it and announce it would be?

i think Weinke would be the odd man out at that point unless they moved one of the defensive coaches, we do have two DB and two LB coaches....but assume it's Weinke, that puts Friend/Nieds as rb's/te's coaches, and you pubt Chaney back in charge of the QB's, PIttman on OL.

i think Friend is a better recruiter than we might give credit. and if he doesn't want the OC job, you'd think he'd be ok with a position change, if it's for the betterment of the program.

Your assumption is incorrect which leads to your faulty determination.

We have not already made a hire. When we do it will leak.

It’s not going to be internal because that decision would have already been announced. You don’t wait a month to hire guys you’ve already had on campus.

Which are all components of a HC...most important, really. You got nerds with schemes who post on here and they ain’t done ****! Chip Kelly can clog a chalkboard and he sucks now! 😉

yeah, that he's the best at that is what makes him the best.

the x's and o's coach to coach really aren't that much different. it's situational football and how you manage that....and the bolded stuff you highlighted. that's what seperates great from everythign else.

Reported by the same people who have reported a lot of speculation. I can’t say that I am excited about Will Friend but the “facts” asserting he will not be the OC are the same facts asserting “coach a” has been offered or is in the lead.
