Literally everybody in football agrees that JP is one of the best defensive football minds in the world...but you go ahead and keep doubting that, and blaming him for this defensive rosters failures..If he ends up failing here, he will go right back to being the best defensive mind in CFB when he goes somewhere else...it will be like magic.

I have absolutely no doubt we will at least have a decent defense under Pruitt. Honestly tho, i think he’s more like a Peter Carroll or bellicheck mode tho where he loves defense but doesn’t need a boring ball control offense too. That’s really really refreshing.

I wouldn’t blame last year on Shoop he has proven his greatness with lesser talent at several schools now

Now...if you wanna blame him for making a bad hire in Helton and mis-managing the offense, I don't have a leg to stand on there. How he handles that side of the ball will ultimately be what decides his future at UT.

When he gets a full defensive roster of his guys, with more years his S&C program...it will be amazing (to you, not to me) how great the Defense suddenly becomes.

One other quick note, I don't have this from multiple sources, but I was told this morning by someone that Pruitt is planning to interview several more candidates. If that's true and again, it's only from one source, but if true then it would suggest that nothing is done.

I don't think it is strictly who the players are, but also how they were developed, which is still squarely on Butch. But the point remains that two proven defensive minds were unable to get much done with substantially the same group. The major difference is that Pruitt has the ability to change that over time, whereas Shoop's hands were tied.

Your evidence that he is not dedicated to winning is pointing out a coach that is like 12-1. And I say that as someone who knows she is a terrible x's and o's coach. But she is elite recruiter and wins lots of games. Hopefully she retires soon and leaves a cupboard full of studs.

12-1 in women’s basketball is a good accomplishment but not one to seriously brag about considering only a handful of teams are relevant, grant it there is a top 25 poll lol but don’t give holly credit for elite recruiting when it’s the name brand of being a “Lady Vol” and the university itself that recruits the type of players Holly Gets.Pat built that brand,holly is just feeding off of it and but yes I do agree her leaving or getting fired could not happen soon enough.
