Day 34 of the OC search. Black Monday. Wonder if we'll hear anything tonight? If you listen to Hubbs Pruitt doesn't even have a candidate yet.

not to nit pick, but LSU's admin hasn't proven to be any better than ours. Joe Alleiva has looked like a clown wiht how he handled Miles in back to back years, whiffing on his dream coaches, twice, and losing that pissing contest with Foley about rescheduling the UF game a couple years ago.

good for them that so far Coach O has worked out, but that wasn't the grand design, and i still think it has a shelf life of jus a few years.

aTm has zero resource issues whatsoever, and should probably be considered the next one to join the fray with UGA and Bama atop the conference. LSU, Auburn, FL (and TN) should be that next group of programs in the SEC right now.

sadly, we're not. the other 3 are. right now, at least for the next couple years, i'd just like to see us get back to beating our November schedule regularly again.

Don’t disagree with LSU in terms of the AD, I was referring to their built in advantages for in state recruiting and the unwillingness of good players to leave the state. It’s a strange phenomenon for in state recruits in Louisiana

Don’t disagree on A and M either but they have a tremendous amount of money and a major in state recruiting advantage

No one is suggesting that but there is a legitimate fear that he is a product of great talent as opposed to his great schemes. He admitted that he ran the same schemes vs. Vandy as the UT head coach that he ran st Alabama. It isn’t a mystery as to why coaches look “great” at Alabama. Mike Lockesley is a prime example. He was probably one of the worst head coaches in the history of college football at New Mexico and a terrible OC at Maryland yet he looks like a genius at Bama
that's what everyone has to reconcile against with any saban deciple. and so far, the only one that's come close is Jimbo, actually winning an national title with elite talent, and Smart winning the SEC, and playing for it twice in his first 3 years, and making the playoff already.

yet neither has beaten Saban.

everyone else is at least a question mark, including Pruitt.

i am interested to see what this program looks like in year 3 and 4 though. i do like the way he's recruiting. we're going to at least look like an SEC team again.

there's just so much unknown about how the next 2-3 years play out. i think you could pick any number of things to point to as reasons why he will or won't succeed at this point.

the reality is, we just won't know for a couple/three years. and then everyone can point back to now and get their "i told you so's" in. which is what's most important anyway............lol.

It appears as if a hire could be made this week , or next, or even the week after. Pruitt is either gonna continue to take his time or wrap this search up fairly quickly. It looks as though there is no in between at this point.

Hubbs(probably)

oh, gotcha. agree with that.

Why don't you just delete me then? It won't hurt my feelings at all.

UGA is close to Bama which had their way with OU which lost to Texas once and out scored them the 2nd time. Only way UGA loses is if they take the night off.
Yeppers. They saw what UCF did to AU last year. It won't happen. They are wanting to prove the committee wrong (in selecting ND to CFP). The way I got if figured, both UGA and LSU and even perhaps Florida where "better" teams than ND. But as usually ND brought the brand and the viewership, so that made it a simple choice for the committee. Contrary to popular belief, I think a four team play is fine. But this "farce"of the committee needs to be done away with. They move the goal posts every year when selecting the top 4 teams. Let the BCS computer pick the top four and call it a day.

Gase is gone from Miami. now we need Tannehill to get cut and we are in business.

Tannehill is good as gone. We are going QB shopping this year. Would have liked Gase to stay honestly as I think he’s been hamstrung by Tannehill but apparently rumors are he’s lost the locker room and there isn’t any coming back from that. I just hope we don’t go after Harbaugh. Stephen Ross is a UM grad and a big fan of him apparently.

I'd hope not but Ross has been underwhelming in the past so we will see. I didnt even watch yesterday.

I wouldn’t blame last year on Shoop he has proven his greatness with lesser talent at several schools now
Literally everybody in football agrees that JP is one of the best defensive football minds in the world...but you go ahead and keep doubting that, and blaming him for this defensive rosters failures..If he ends up failing here, he will go right back to being the best defensive mind in CFB when he goes somewhere else...it will be like magic.

yeah, i think Ben's ego has gotten too big. which would be fine if he was producing like guys named Brees, Rodgers or Brady.

i think the offensive staff placates Ben to a certain degree, and in an locker room with egos like AB, i think Big Ben's is probably the biggest.

the only reason he gets along with this offensive coordinator is because he lets him do whatever he wants out there. it's annoying.

anyway, all you need to know is that hte steelers put themselves in the Browns' hands. and when you do that, bad things happen.

they need to make some changes, and honestly, i kinda hope Ben retires, and they just start over on defense, especially in the front 7. the secondary gets a lot of grief, and with production like they've put up, i can see why....but the reality is they don't stop the run consistently, and the pass rush is extremely inconsistent.

i think they're better at corner than they are at Safety. jmo.

LSS, they were very frustrating to watch this year...

One reason i would be very happy to get Tomlin and while he isn’t the only person doing this but the Steelers gave drafted very well. I didn’t think TJ was all that coming out but he’s very good.

If he fails here will he not bear some responsibility for the roster and it’s development or is it still a vast conspiracy brought by the Haslams?
