Exactly. Helton was never the man, calling plays. This was his first time. Yurcich has been the playcaller at OSU for awhile now and done very well. Easier to trust a guy like that.

Good. We’d be better than we have been with Mullen, but it would get old recruiting in the 20s and losing 3-4 games every year and never beating Bama or Ga. that’s what we’d have with Mehlen

Also a stellar track record of coaching up QB’s. Had a walk-on lead em to a bowl this season. Trumps any Mullen story on that front, and he’s pretty storied as a QB developer.

He knows Sark. Sark has a lot longer resume. Has called plays successfully at multiple places including the NFL. Yurcich has called plays at one place under an offensive minded head coach. Yes it does make sense

Yeah...I'm pretty sure JP knows how to defend him. I think watching him and JP go at each other at full strength will be fun. Like I said earlier today, I think our future encounters with UF will be like last nights WSU-IS game. Looking forward to that, it will be fun to watch.

I just wonder how much the “he knows Sark” stuff is being overblown. Wasn’t he only in Tuscaloosa for one year?

And most of all it takes an elite recruiting HC at Tennessee to be successful. Mullen is not that. He’d be in the 20’s right now at UT in the ‘19 class and those singing his praises right now, because they’re beating an overrated B1G team, would be calling for his head.

The didn’t think Mullen was a good fit at UT either. Still not sure he’s a championship coach, but I agree that his recruiting is questionable. UF is a great spot for him because there is loads of talent around him. He can develop it. But he isn’t pulling in top 10 classes at UT. Not his personality. Justin Fuente is the same way. Not a rah rah guy with a great personality and can’t relate the best to young kids to come to his school. Just develops the talent he can get.

An offensive guy that gave him autonomy. Pruitt hasn’t done that with Sherrer so I’m sure he’d recognize the difference. He’d leave him to do his thing.

Boy you’re on the Sark train hardcore aren’t you haha. It is Yurcichs offense, not the HC, that has been documented many times.

One thing we know for sure...Yurcich was interviewed and apparently it went very well and the Sark stuff has all been speculation from message boards and Dan Harralson and friends. For all we know he’s not even a candidate.
