I cannot see our next OC being Osovet. If he was the choice, it would have been announced already. No reason to wait.

Logically, the hire will come from another team who still has one or more games to play; either at the college level or the NFL.

Personally, I think it will be one of Briles, Yurcich, Long, or Sark...and would be happy with any of these. I think Briles is the longest shot. Yurcich impressed during the interview. Long may want a change if working for Brian Kelly is as rough as rumored. Sark is likely out at Atlanta. So..........

Want: Briles
Avoid: Probst
Think: we get surprised and it is someone we have not discussed.

That program was an absolute train wreck before he got there. He did a great job there, it just waters it down because Washington hired a top 5 coach in college football after USC hired him away.

Might be a hair late to get on this trend but I have been making serious bank betting against Mtsu. They are awful. 0/9 against the spread at this point.

I'd be surprised if the oddsmakers haven't caught up yet to MTSU with that kind of ATS run, but there's could still potentially be some value there. One of my betting philosophies is to bet against the public. Basketball is one of my weakest sports to bet on, but betting against Golden State has been profitable. I've also done exceptionally well betting on Nicola Jokic O/U rebound player props.

Whoever CJP hires will determine his future as HC at UT IMO. The only way he survives a bad OC hire is to have a deadly D that keeps them in lower scoring games. Since CJP does not desire to give fans any insight as to who or the style he is considering, it's all a moot point until he hires whoever.

Personally, I can see it working with Osovet and Sark. Sark makes it happen quicker IMO because the roster is not fully built for RPO. The O-line being repaired. We have a statue as QB who still has to be taught how to sidestep a rush because he can't get out of his own head. We are not loaded with quick receivers. Sark has run multiple in college, which means he can work with all types. What Sark is doing in the NFL means nothing to me other than what he has learned being valuable going forward. He's having to work with contracted players the org provides, not recruiting to his style. It's all whether he can subject himself to CJP being the boss and blend into the team of coaches while still exerting control over the O. In other words, the right fit.

Not sure if this is strictly an emotional opinion or other, but Matts rarely posts and usually only when it’s probable info. I’m encouraged either way!
