Do you want to swap classes with Florida? Be happy with the class that we have....

No, don't want to swap. We are getting the pieces we need.

Just hate Florida and don't want their fans getting the satisfaction of saying "you said mullen is a bad recruiter but he out-recruited pruitt" and such.

Thanks for rational thought and posting but you have not posted much and K. Brown wanted to be here and we slowed played him and he is an outstanding prospect and we did the same thing to Javonta. We did the same thing to Anderson and he then told us he was coming and then signed with USC because he wasn't slow played by them. I do know a few things that are true. You don't have to believe them nor AV either. I don't have his connections but know who he is and what he does and actually have some myself. Gotta hand it to the staff to go for the big wins but they didn't win any of those today and lost out on some guys they eventually wanted but didn't get.

Looks like we slowplayed K Brown, and that was a bad gamble. The Payton thing sounds like we may have passed because he didn’t live up to expectations in the classroom. Gray and Keyton are both excellent, but outside of them, our class looks a little underwhelming at offensive skill positions. I was really hoping for Ellis, great speed on film.

If we land Wright/Crouch/Gray:

2019 Pruitt
2 5-stars
9 4-stars
13 3-stars
268.46 points
90.22 average
2007 Saban
0 5-stars
8 4-stars
16 3-stars
241.78 points
87.81 average

The fact that we're coming off 2-14 in the SEC the last two years and doing as well as we are is impressive. Even Saban didn't recruit like Saban coming off of his first 7-6 year.
The 90.22 average would also be the highest for us since 2009, we've majorly beefed up our biggest position of need at OL, added some JUCO stopgaps for the DL, and have gotten a solid player at every position on the field. Use this to solidify our place above Kentucky/Vandy/USCe/Mizzou and work from there.
That was Sabans first class. So we should be comparing 2008 Bama with 2019 Pruitt

Saban joined Alabama in January of 2007, so thats his first half class. His 2008 class was #3 in the nation. I'm' not all doom and gloom on these guys but lets not set the bar at Saban. That class was 3 5 starts and like 20 4 stars.

So how many spots we got left? I'm thinking they already knew the odds of getting who they were swinging for, but put in a lot of work anyway. Now they know for sure who they don't have and can go all out again for the rest of the class. It's a gamble, but I'm glad they're trying. It's a hard sell to come in this year. I think it is going to take 3 more classes to get us where we are where we expect to be, but I remember when Majors was building so I've been around a long, long time.

Add in Saban had already won an NC at LSU. CJP just had his first year as a HC.

Considering the state of our program right now and for the last decade, what CJP is doing with recruiting is a small miracle. This class is going to end up way better than what should be realistically expected. Some of yall have lost your minds.
I think they are doing an outstanding job considering where we are as a program. It did not fall overnight and wont be fixed overnight either.

Fourteen signed-- just waiting on a few more today. Did someone say Wright decided to sign early? IDT that's true.

When dealing with HS seniors I feel like if they wanted to be here then they would sign, regardless of how much they were or were not recruited. The staff is only so large and they're chasing recruits all over the country, because unfortunately as Anderson proved a kid's word isn't worth much. If they don't sign then you gotta stay on the road chasing other options.

Posting frequency doesn't equate to credibility either, keep that in mind. We're all just sharing opinions and thoughts.

Our coaches wouldn't let them commit and lost them before signing day because they slowed played them. Sometimes the kids don't trust the coaches and rightfully so. It is a meat market business. What I meant by posting is in this forum which leads me to think you don't watch it very much. If you had, you would understand my statement. Brown was all orange and the coaches told him to hold off on his verbal till he had to take a spot somewhere else and when Mack got the job at UNC, it turned him back to his home school where his brother plays. Payton picked Miss State as his verbal because we wouldn't take him. THEY wanted to be Vols and we lost them due to swinging for guys like hazelwood and Pickens. You tell a kid who wants to commit to hold on, they get other options and tell you to stick it. I can't make it any clearer.

I want to thank you guys for completely breaking me from wanting to read VN for the rest of the day. I can actually go be productive.

This was a good day and a decent class and hand wringing won't do chit. If we don't start beating lower tier teams WITH LESS TALENT by just playing good football expect it all to get a lot worse.

Today has nothing to do with Raptors or hostesses, AV, or bagmen. It has to do with winning. We haven't done **** all in that category in a long damn time.

Never said these guys were lazy and not working. Reality is quite the opposite.

Nobody has said that he will sign early, just have said that they wlon't completely rule out him signing low key today(can't remember who exactly but someone from volquest or 247)

Correct. Today is a function of us being a garbage program from top to bottom. Fundamentals, planning, and coaching are the only things that will remedy the situation.
