I get being bummed about the lack of fireworks. But this is gonna be a really good class that lays a solid foundation. Especially if we close with Wright which it looks like we have a great shot to do.

We have room and time to still add the firepower. But the one position group we absolutely could not miss on was oline, and this is shaping up to be an excellent class for us there. Once that group is settled we can compete again. Thats been the biggest difference between us and the good teams.

This is definitely a rebuild. We just have to develop into a good program again. We have not been good at all the last 2 years. Let's get good and then we have a much better chance to become great. Just hang around and ride it out and hope for the best. That's all we can do. One step at a time. This class is gonna be a good step.

In the 247 team rankings, there are 2 teams in the top 15 that did not go bowling this year....FSU and UT. Yet everyone wants to b!tch about the recruiting failures.

We're ahead of OSU and UF, and others such as Stanford, USC, and Miami.

And after 5-7 and 4-8 seasons, a coaching search fiasco, and obnoxious social media fans.......

Smdh!!!

The AV bashing was expected. The guy is way more connected then 99% of the people here and he shares what info he gets from having those connections. If you’re hanging on his every word your gonna get disappointed. HE’S SHARING WHAT HE HEARS. Doesn’t mean it will happen. I personally enjoy having him here so don’t screw it up for the rest of us.

You may disagree, but I think the Tennessee program as a whole has a basement of like 15-20. Meaning that no matter the coach or product on the field, you should be above that or you had a bad recruiting year.

So when you tell me we’re in the top 15 it just doesn’t do much for me.

I'm with you on the second part, but the first part you probably need to look at more......or not, just friendly advice (not that you asked for it).
I catch hell for saying things truthful like I think we will have a 12+ ranked class with no big fish other than the great ones like Morris we already have. This OL class is going to murder the SEC for the next 4-5 years, and Maurer is going to be a great Qb..etc etc etc..this class has greatness in it even if Rivals and 24/7 don't see it.

AV is good people, but yikes I can’t take him seriously anymore.
Serious question. Did we know that we were in on Anderson and Eboigbe at this point before he posted about it? I've been crazy busy so I'm legitimately curious. Based on Simonton's tweet, it seems like we felt like we had a legit chance at both today. Also, what about Jaylen Ellis? Did anyone even know he was signing today when AV made that prediction?

Correct me if I’m wrong but y’all remember how lame that 2008 class was? Wasn’t it similar no real clarity on OC because Clawson wasn’t named?

Feels similar but we are I guess whiffing I’m defensive recruits too.

We still haven’t had a class that bad since. To put that in perspective, throughout all the uncertainty and turmoil surrounding the tenures of Kiffin, Dooley, and Jones, we still haven’t had a class as bad as that 2008 one. And this class won’t be nearly as bad as that one was. The 2008 recruiting class wasn’t just due to uncertainty at OC, that was piss poor effort.

It shows the information he provides is legit. It’s just 17-18 yos like to be little peckers sometimes.

Thanks. Didn’t intend to insinuate the classes were similar just Hanks comment got me thinking

Is it though?

For me yes cause I take it for what it is, nothing is certain, there's no guarantees but at least I know who we have a shot at. We are signing the ones we thought we were signing except for means. We knew Fig wasn't coming, also that Payton's family lives close to Baylor so he wasn't a guarantee, we are getting a heck of an OL and DB's so why be doom and gloom? We are still going to pick up Gray and Wright so that's two 5 * OL so I am happy its a start.
