"Some" insiders have access -- maybe even contacts with staff at TOS (VQ and/or 247) -- and are able to dribble out nuggets a few minutes or hours earlier than officially reported and are able to speculate (confidently) based upon which way the wind seems to be blowing to the beat staff at TOS.

But, "Real" insiders -- they don't miss.

AV brings "some" info earlier than it's made public "sometimes." But it's unfair to hold him to the standard of a "real" insider when he is not one. JMO.

I'm with you man. No worries. Its disappointing we didn't land some of the guys that were lofty gets, but ecstatic we got guys like Morris. We fix our oline, I truly believe we start beating teams we should be beating.

It’s still not good enough compared to our direct competition.

I really am surprised at the recruiting struggles given what I thought was an elite recruiting staff. They haven’t been *bad*, and I’m not arguing that, but I don’t think we’re gaining ground right now.

Some of y’all get way too excited and think we are getting guys just because they visit. Nothing shocking has happened today other than adding means. This is exactly how hubbs and the VQ crew said it would go.

Pruitt and staff going through some growing pains- slow playing guys that want to commit then end up having to take lesser players than the guys they were slow playing.

Gonna have to find a balance in recruiting + win on the field

Right or Wrong thanks for camaraderie we share in this forum. @Atlanta VOL will take some jabs today but from the posters in this forum and not outsiders from the FF it will be in good fun and I think, and hope he knows this. With that being said here is my jab.

After watching that guy and his boy MITBeaver operate in the Gruden forum piping their merry band of followers down wacky rabbit holes, I'm surprised people give him the time of day in the recruiting forum. To each his or her own.

Gotta a find a way to win some more on the field in order to win some more on signing day.

You clearly don't know **** about recruiting, because by your definition coaches aren't even insiders. There are stories every year of coaches being told that somebody is signing and only finding out that they aren't during their announcement or when they hear about the fax showing up at another school

Insiders with program connections like Atlanta Vol are always gonna be overly optimistic in recruiting because these kids regularly tell the programs what they want to hear. It’s the media guys that talk to high school coaches and others around the kid that have a better feel of what’s happening in recruiting.

Nobody has real access unless they are actually part of the staff in some capacity tbh. Most of the stuff is just here say from people that work for UT in other roles or media friends.

This is going to be a long rebuild. Prospects want to see evidence of improvement. When SC, Vandy, KY, and Missouri become automatics, then we'll have taken a big step and recruiting with follow. You can't consistently beat out GA and FL for recruits that they want. Sure you'll get one or two but you're not gonna recruit with them until you can compete with them on the field.

And on Saturdays when we get our heads stomped in it’s because we have to recruit better players first. It’s a cycle of excuses.

At some point you just have to break the cycle and exceed expectations.

Again, I am not totally unhappy. Just slightly disappointed and surprised about the recruiting struggles.

Yet still have a shot at Crouch who looked unlikely before last week.
