I believe also that every single living thing i'l n earh has its place. So if you take one thing away it affects many. Read this once. A certain bird was important to this ecosystem because it ate the seeds from a plant, when going through its digestive system it did something to the seed. Coated it in something in the digestive enzymes that when the bird popped it wherever it was more resistant to disease and things that would hinder its growth and structural integrity. So without that certain bird, the trees or berries or whatever did not produce as much and was more likely to be damaged in storms and such.
Bottom line, I'm my eyes God made everything for a reason and who are we to question it.

Am I the only one not freaking out about the potential for Fitzgerald leaving?

Plenty of guys can do that job. Yes, you can make the wrong hire (as we are all too aware), and Fitzgerald may be among the best in the nation, but for what they are paying him now, they can lure any number of good replacements. I hope he stays, but I think they'll be fine either way.

💯

It stinks, but there are a ton of non idiots who would love to come here for the money we have. 300 still weighs 300. Just need someone knowledgeable, motivational, and committed who doesn’t bring in useless garbage.

Pruitt hired Fitz, he can get another

I thought you summed it up nicely in a previous post: Pick up heavy thing. Put it down. Repeat. Pick up a tasty thing. Put it down. Repeat.

i think it's just the thought of having to start over...again. and we all know too well what lack of good s&c does to a program.

well, we have a good one. and we don't even get two full cycles with the guy?

ugh.
Switching it up is a non issue. The guys should continue to lift heavy and add weights to the bar. If the new guy prefers Romanian deadlifts instead of conventional deadlifts, it doesn’t set out program back a year. Strength doesn’t go away just because you change a movement or rep scheme within reasonable boundaries

Lol

Generally, that’s all it takes for the first couple of years. Intelligent Programming is absolutely necessary with advancement. Any strength coach worth $500,000 will be dialed in, and I have not a concern in the world about this

The key point here regarding S&C is that there is *zero* chance that Coach Fulmer and Coach Pruitt are as clueless about the importance of doing it well as Intern BJ was. Zero. New guy will be good too, heavy things will be lifted early and often, and big guys will get bigger.

The thing I hate is, I can handle bullsh*t most of the time when it's just confined to here on VN, most of us here being Vols; but, other social media for the whole world to see...i hate that others from the outside read that, and may think that about Pruitt and our program.

Thanks, again, Hank.

Any chance what you are talking about is Shuler?

A lot of people assuming it’ll be easy to replace Fitz seem to be ignoring how he and his teams have been very successful during his tenures and how his former players rave about him.

Losing him would be a very bad thing. Absolutely would set us back.

So much of what happens to make football successful is art, and artist can be hard to find. S&C is science, however, and scientists are in ready supply. Jimmies are unrustled.

Fitz leaving will cause him to have a tougher time getting top notch facilities if he ends up somewhere else but Maryland. Not saying he will have to work with crap but the question and cause for hesitation will occur with any future employer. It could also he in the form of buyout penalties. I hope Tennessee doesnt waive it and I hope they gave him a buyout that pays UT back for the gym change.

I don't think so. Not sure who it is; but, im leaning it's Abernathy. I don't believe for a second Pruitt told Abernathy he was going to be fired if Baron doesn't sign; and, if he did, he was just joking around with him, and this Vandy homer took it as gospel.

After reading just a few sentences of this article, I have strong suspicions that the contract may not be extended beyond the next two games. Penny is a first year college coach and he's acting like a little turd. Me thinks he isn't a big fan of getting his a$$ handed to him by Tennessee.
I did not like him as a pro and he still acts like a dick. He just mad he lost and can not face the fact the better team won plus Memphis being Memphis.

I like Penny in the NBA

It was cool he went back to coach his HS team.

I was cheering for him a bit a when he got hired at Memphis.

Go ahead and flush all that.
I’m just glad he ran his mouth before they come to our house to play. TBA gonna roast him and his fancy croots next year.

Our 4th strength coach in as many years. I can't believe that would happen after we made him the second highest paid strength coach in all of college football and spent a million dollars remodeling the weight room for him. You've got to be kidding me.

Our biggest issue has been that we are small, weak, and slow, and yet again, we are changing strength coaches if that 247 report is true. Its hard to improve in that area with this much turnover. Good grief it's ridiculous.
I sure dont understand why it is even being talked about. Did they not have a player die up there. Can he not get the players to buy in or some chit I have not read about. I thought the players really liked him here and started doing what was required of them. Scratching my bald head on this one.

11.7 scholarships split among a max of 27 players on 35 man roster.
They are not all partial you can give full also but only 11.7 to work with. Most of your better players are around .7 to .8 unless good academics or like a promise scholarship will of course off set too

Found it—Woody Baron is in the CFL, formerly of the Cowboys.
