Plenty of guys can do that job. Yes, you can make the wrong hire (as we are all too aware), and Fitzgerald may be among the best in the nation, but for what they are paying him now, they can lure any number of good replacements. I hope he stays, but I think they'll be fine either way.

I can get that, but S&C is one of those areas where changing things up actually benefits you (unlike say learning a new offensive scheme). As long as they don't take too long and get someone that knows what they're doing, it should be fine.

I’m going to venture to guess this is what happens:
Yurcich is the guy.
Weinke leaves after ESD.
Osovet takes Weinke’s spot, and is given a co-OC title or something similar. I’m wondering if Yurcich sees the value of installing some of Osovet’s concepts into his offense. Yurcich still gets paid the OC type money and is the playcaller and coordinator.

and it just isn't a good look, imo, alma mater or not, for a guy that's got everything he could possibly want for his own s&c program at a major program in the SEC to leave for MD, a middle tier at best big 10 program that hsould be in the ACC coming off a giant scandal where player died.
