Mike locksley going after our strength coach

It’s his alma mater, so you never know how that will play out. He is the 2nd highest paid S&C coach in football, so we know it won’t be a monetary decision. Because he sought this job out from Pruitt, hopefully he has some sense of obligation not to hang him out to dry.

Let him have him, who cares? No gonna make one bit of difference if Fitzgerald or anybody else is our strength coach. This is Tennessee, it is what it is.

I don't see him leaving for the Maryland job. He knows that he is at a top tier program, albeit a down and out one at the moment. That job at Maryland is not one that most would covet given the most recent loss that they suffered during the off-season. Anything that goes wrong there will be a high profile issue in the media and the school. I see Fitzgerald saying put, especially because he is paid very well and has traction with the current players working in his system. He has a fresh off-season to work with and knows that Tennessee makes it back to prominence and surpasses Maryland in the very near future.

Will Maryland hand him a blank check for half a million to refurbish their weight room?

If he moves on to Maryland after only one year here....after HE reached out to JP last year asking for the job....after Tennessee made him the second highest S&C coach in the nation....after we spent $600k to completely revamp the equipment per his ask/wants....then that doesn’t say much for his honor, professionalism or character.

Leaving here for a lesser program after only 1 year.

Helton is getting a promotion (OC to HC). But a lateral move? To Maryland?

I could be wrong.

Would be a
Fitz to Maryland?! Say it ain't happening!!!

What We're Hearing: a 'Strong' Addition by Locksley?
Would be a big loss if it is true; but, once again it is a clickbait article based on information that is unconfirmed by anyone, including Fitz or anyone else in the AD.

No one should react, little else overreact, until one of the near infinite rumors....sorry, articles are proven to be true.

Why is it a Red Flag?????
Cause something has to stink pretty bad in the ad or coaches support for him to leave here to take a lateral ( imo step down) to Maryland. He is already the second highest paid s&c guy in the country so it’s not like they double his salary I wouldn’t think?

sentiments noted but sorry, dollars tops all that honor stuff these days plus there may be extenuating circumstances we don't know about...

PS. if post is true we'll move on like we always do with a better weight room...;)

GO VOLS...RECRUIT LIKE HECK!

Unless they ante up the money it is actually a degrade......but other factors may play into it besides Red Flags......

We both could be wrong.....All speculation at this point

It probable tells us alot about his relationship with Pruitt. Two staff members leaving and taking a pay cut????????

If he leaves who is gonna get our Punter's leg in shape for all the punting we gonna be doing without a OC?

Again what is the Red Flag???? Nothing stinks if he has a desire to coach at his Alma Mater
