UT is stepping up the PWO program. Good way to build depth and develop projects when we can find players that fit.
Are we looking to expand the scope to be more like that of Nebraska?
Nebraska's rosters regularly numbered 175-200 into the early 2000s. Stricter enforcement of Title IX, which requires equitable opportunities for male and female athletes, has led to a reduction in squad sizes. The Huskers now cap their roster at about 140, with 85 of them being scholarship players. That means Nebraska must be more selective when it comes to walk-ons.

Except for having to pay for tuition, room and board, walk-ons are treated the same as scholarship players. They're given the cost-of-attendance stipend, a laptop and Adidas gear, and they have access to the academic support and life skills programs.

For you basketball guys here, UT got 2 CB’s (Jerry Meyer and Kevin Ryan) for Keon Johnson this weekend. He is the #29 player in the country for 2020. #7 SG in America. #1 player in Tennessee believe

Lots of Tenn folks close to this kid. He likes Vandy A lot so it isn't a slam dunk but I give us a 75/25 shot

LOL, I've got info you don't know. This may be the first solid inside info I've ever had and I can't reveal much and it looks good for 'da Vols.

He has kept it close to the vest. I think his top 3 are Auburn, Virginia and UT. He has ties to Auburn through his mom I believe. My nephew is on his HS team, says he talks to a different program every other day. He likes Coach Barnes and his style gives us a slight edge but I think he ends up at Auburn.

Considering the success UT has had over the last year and a half in basketball and Keon being an in-state (not in Memphis) kid, he better be a lock to commit to the Vols. Throw in that Mark Griffin is one of his AAU coaches, if UT misses out on Keon, it would be a major disappointment, imo. I hope and think UT will get him. Vols and Barnes should be at the point where these in-state (once again, from anywhere but Memphis) kids are Vol locks if Barnes wants them

Gundy said that isn’t unusual, though. While coaches used to call other head coaches to ask for permission to interview an assistant, that rarely happens anymore.
With regard to Yurcich and Tennessee, Gundy said there is “probably some truth to parts of it” and “sometimes it’s blown out of proportion.”

If the reporters quoted him word for word, the fact that he said 'have not' rather than using the contraction 'haven't' is a good indicator that he's not being completely honest.

Someone please let me know what all is going on since I have been working. To many pages to read through
Well, let's see. First the Earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. And Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes. I couldn't believe it- he took her best summer dress and he put it on and went to town...

Osovet doesn’t have enough experience at big boy ball. I like him in a few years.
We need someone with experience At the top level. Full package coach and recruiter.
Everyone in “big boy ball” got their first shot. I have no clue if he’s up to task... or whether Pruitt even thinks he is, but we can’t dismiss him out of the gates

I think Garland getting hurt really hurt vandys chances and then our great start to the year has really helped the Vols greatly.
A month ago I feel confident it was very close to 50/50 because Vandy(Drew) were just more aggressive in the recruiting process than Barnes but we are reaping the benefit
Of success now.

If there really is a hard reset on the OC search, it will be interesting to see how ESD will affect it. If you land Wright, EJ from Oklahoma follows, Gray/Cain/Ellis sign, then that gives Pruitt a lot to sell to candidates.

Dooley was definitely worse than Butch. If Butch had not been so poor at developing talent, and stuck on his offense he would likely still be coaching here.
