Jimmy thinks hiring a coach at UT is his decision because the amount of money they give.

But a report from Clay Travis of Outkick the Coverage has taken that narrative to a new level. Haslam, who also owns the Cleveland Browns, is personally calling Tennessee lawmakers who were critical of the possible hire of Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano.

You don’t make the Tennessee hire, we do,” Haslam said, according to Travis.

Most of this "House of Haslam" crap you see and hear is just that. Yes, they donate a ton of money but blaming them for everything that's wrong with UT football is a cop-out for desperate democrats to attach blame.

I don't get to stop at Pilot very often. I usually enjoy my time there. I've gotten some good flashlights from those stores and they always have a nice selection of links on the hot dog rollers.

What about the CEO of Dish Network? Isn't he a UT alumn? I dont know his name though.
Charlie Anderson a/k/a Beaver's source albeit perhaps a few degrees removed. I think the truth is that he has given a lot of money to the school but has never been particularly involved with the athletics side.

I know people mock Travis but I would love to see someone come up with some good retorts to what he says about the Haslams and TN football.

Keep in mind up until the end of of the Gruden/ Schiano mess last year, the Haslams were GOLDEN as Jimmy and Dee Haslam were either giving Gruden or selling their Lyons View home to them for a song. LULZ!

Obviously.
Sorry for the followingTl;Dr but I know you actually pay attention.

I spent a lot of time doing tons of research and talking with people. (Btw, ya'll should pay attention to Beecher on this)

You've pretty much got it dead on. Each Haslam is different, Big Jim being the better of all.
Bill does some good things, that should be admitted.
Jimmy wants his money to override everything and he sucks at football. Bad combination.

Boca is a little right and a LOT wrong.
The "HOH" isn't close to weighing in on every little decision, not even fb if it's assistants etc;
What he ignores, they do have the most say in who runs things at the top. And those people take serious consideration of what they want when they hire others or vote etc.

So they have the say over a few but yet biggest decisions. But they also affect many other decisions simply by proxy.

Okay, I shouldn't have said prove it.

I don't see anyone blaming everything on the Haslems. It someone else does and thinks most of it is crap, I just ask for an exame of the crap so I have an idea of what they are talking about.

Want me to prove its not crap? Okay, what do you want me to prove is not crap. I'll try, but wasn't the one claiming anything was or wasn't.

Edit: Not that it matters but I've changed my mind. I haven't accused anyone of anything so I'm not proving anything. I just see someone saying most everything said about Haslam is crap and I don't think its too much to ask for an example.

I got it. Wasn’t trying to cause trouble, but I struggle to find real facts on what is happening at UT. It doesn’t help that I live in TX and only get to campus 2-3 times a year now. If any booster is trying to unduly influence the UTAD, then they need to be called out on it. The Haslams have provided a lot of financial support over the years, but it doesn’t give them or other boosters the right to use their money to handcuff the school’s athletics. I would like to see a real reporter dig into some of this stuff.

To who? A few people you consider dumbasses? Were they some of these fans that that blame everything, I'm sorry, Most of the crap on the Haslams? If not what does it matter? Did Haslam give Gruden a house? Nope, that was crap.

Lulz, I just can't figure out why you hate Tennessee fans.

If I remember right, the story was that Halsam wanted to originally hire his buddy Schiano as the Browns coach but when the GM found out, he stepped in (knowing how bad schiano’s reputation was with players on his former teams) and pretty much told Jimmy he would not do it. Jimmy got pissed but was finally talked into going a different direction. When the vol job opened up, he tried to hire Schiano again but without anyone challenging him......until the public caught wind. That’s why Currie went after him originally without a plan B. At least that’s how I think it was told at the time of the Schiano mess. Not saying I agree with it all just remembering How the Haslams name got drug into all the coaching mess

I don't hate Tennessee fans. I can't stand stupid fans...although the Gruden mess was a lot of fun.

If you don't recall the scenario where Gruden was getting the Haslam's house on Lyons View then go back and read it. There were realtors based in FL that were checking into it...LOL.

And yes, MOST OF THE CRAP ON THE HASLAMS...IS CRAP! That family has given more to UT than most of us could ever dream. I still say that UT is better off with their money than without it. If you disagree, then fine. Otherwise, STFU!

I do pay attention to Beecher, and a couple of others that seem like they have a clue and don't just throw crap out there and make accusations like some know-it-all vigilante. Haha.

I don't know much, but I've gathered enough information to form my own opinion, and I feel comfortable with it.

Thanks for taking time to explain.

So were the Haslams involved in Fulmer being hired, Pruitt being hired, Pruitt's staff?
