I didn’t actually like that video.
Not one of their best IMO
interesting point. What seems odd about the Yurcich thing (or any of them really) is there hasn’t been some public announcement that the candidate has turned us down, no reports of a contract extension at their current school, no “Cowboy for life!” type tweets, etc. It’s been “Pruitt is talking to Coach X” and then - nothing. Makes me think either Pruitt has a “silent commit,” or he hasn’t really thought any of the ones he met would be the right fit, and/or he just isn’t that focused on it and wants to get through the ESD first. If we are able to get a strong offensive recruiting haul, it might make the job more attractive to potential candidates.
DM's direct qoutes have been posted here several times. i've never listened to him either, yet i know exactly what he said.
It does and doesnt. I'm 50/50 on it. Usually if he doesn't know he just says he doesn't know. I see both sides the "protecting Fulmer side" and the he is telling truth side. I think he would protect Fulmer but I don't think he would take it as far as he is going as to discredit himself and I don't think Fulmer would do that to him.
Imo if it turns out to be a McClendon, Yurchich, Long, internal hire, or NFL guy then I think DM could be telling truth. Those are guys that are loyal to sticking through ESD for the coach that gave them a chance. More so Mac and Yurchich. Internal causing fan negativity that could hurt recruiting right before signing day.
If it's some random college guy mcgoogle then probably was bs
That depends on who is hired IMO. You roll out a guy that checks the boxes and there's nothing you can say to refute him. You roll out John Googleson after 4 or 5 weeks and your BS is on full display. And the origin of your BS is evident. Dangerous play for Fulmer IMO.I believe he is purposefully lying as a favor for Fulmer. Because no matter what you can’t call him on a lie like that.
Whenever a hire is made, he can simply claim that was the guy the whole time and he knew it and we didn’t.
There’s so many levels to it that don’t make sense.
-between VQ, Chris Low, National media etc... not a single peep really has been said about any other candidates other than freeze, briles, Yurcich.... sobto think there is a mystery candidate that is 95% done that not only TN people haven’t got a whiff of but also another teams coaching staff, writers, recruits, agents, etc. is very very unlikely. I’m not even talking about “this guy has interviewed”. I mean not even a name drop.
Also if he in fact did have someone he knew he was going to hire but still was going out and interviewing handfuls of candidates that would be an awful look for him within coaching circles.
For the record i don’t think anyone is flat out lying. I think it’s just fulmer getting a friend in Mathews to try and calm the mob while a first time AD and first time HC are trying to nail down a really important OC hire. I think it’s more Pruitt just being indecisive after freeze fell through than anything.
No doubt. I don’t think there’s a panic by any means. But I’m skeptical that means he has someone in his back pocket.
I found it interesting what Price said yesterday. Not as much what he said about the hire not being in place before ESD, but that he said it a week before that happens.
The sense of urgency is not there. That either points to Pruitt being comfortable in what he knows or he's clueless. IMO.
yep. i was thinking abou that yesterday and for some reason couldn't put it in the right words. but that's it, nail on the head.I found it interesting what Price said yesterday. Not as much what he said about the hire not being in place before ESD, but that he said it a week before that happens.

Agreed - and we don’t know which one is the truth at this point.I found it interesting what Price said yesterday. Not as much what he said about the hire not being in place before ESD, but that he said it a week before that happens.

he's not the hire, but from the beginning, i thought he made the most senese.OK gotta ask, is Will Friend really a terrible hire?
