I know someone mentioned Fedora earlier but he is an odd dude. Pruitt would chew his a$$ up and spit him out. Those two are not cut from the same cloth and it would be a terrible fit overall.

Say what you will, but VOLS have some really good teams in all sports. (and seriously trying to fix football) Phil is a great AD, IMO.

Connections - was with UGA when Pruitt was. Coached under Brian Schottenheimer who is firmly out of our league since he is having a good season with Seahawks.

Works under a defensive minded coach. Doesn't have control of QB's (Werner does).

Hmmm. This tells us Pruitt liked McClendon just not initially in a coordinator way. Would McClendon want to leave the guy that gave him his chance?

McClendon family came to USC with intent to stay

It was reported McClendon was a high priority target for multiple coaching staffs, most notably by Tennessee to be the wide receivers coach under new head coach Jeremy Pruitt. The two coached together at Georgia from 2014-15. Sources indicated to GoVols247 that Tennessee had a pay raise on the table for McClendon.
