I find it hard to believe that a guy who is not good at calling plays with Ryan, Julio, and Ridley would be great here

It's pretty clear his unit this year isn't the problem for them losing.
Sure he could be better but "failed" NFL coaches always brings a wealth of knowledge when they return to college and often times Much better because of it

Was he the OC or head coach there?

And to be honest, I’m not making an argument. I don’t know much about him pre-Bama days, but I just don’t think a guy who sucks at calling plays in the NFL and is about to get fired would be a good hire for us.
He doesn’t sucks at playcalling. He’s being made the scapegoat for a terrible defense. Top 10 offense. If they had even an average D, they’d be a playoff team

And how has he performed? He was blamed for Bamas loss in the championship game and more than likely he will be fired by Atlanta if we don’t take him from them

Does he deserved to be fired by Atlanta? Their offense has been fine this year. Their defense is worst in the league...he struggled his first year but going from ncaa to NfL is always difficult early on especially for offensive coaches.

I don’t understand why he gets the blame for that game at all... Clemson had a great defense that year, they put up 31 points..had the lead with 2 min left and Bamas defense who had been awful all night let Clemson drive down and score. Watson carved them up all night.

Remember Pete Carrol chose him over Lane Kiffin. Saban gave him a million plus to be his OC, and the Falcons wanted him bad enough to hire him away from bama. That’s all i need to know about him.

I do like your point about being able to help JP. If he’s really a good play caller that would be great. But I don’t know, hard for me to get past his performance with Atlanta
Look at USC, Washington and Alabama.

We basically hired Lane Kiffin as our head coach because we thought he had Sark’s resumé.

If Sark is the guy I will definitely be in the "wait and see" crowd. I don't necessarily think it's a bad hire but I'm not excited about it.
Actually I don't think there is anyone left that has been mentioned that I would feel confident about.

Well you guys know more about him than I do. All i know is what I hear from falcons fans down here and read on google. If he’s really as good as y’all say, then hire him. Hopefully y’all are right

Maybe Sark is the best of what’s left idk

I don't think it's accurate to call this a "mulligan" hire. That implies that hiring Helton was a shank off the tee by Pruitt. It wasn't. Last year's offensive personnel (specifically on the OL) was the equivalent of showing up on the first tee with only a putter and no tee -- would be hard for anyone to hit a good one. Next year's OC will at least have a couple long irons and a tee to work with.

These are good pints
agreed. :)

At USC he had the best talent in the nation. I seem to recall he was fired at Washington but that may have been because he was a lush, can't remember.
Only one game to go on while at Bama, but another instance where he had the best talent. Not enough data there to make a call on his performance there.

He’s a GREAT college playcaller and it appears he doesn’t fit well in the NFL.

Agree but I think he gets a bad rap in ATL because he Followed one of the best playcallers iver ever seen. His first impression has stuck with their fans but they forget even Kyle struggled yr 1 with Ryan. I think it takes Ryan a good yr to get in sync with play callers based on his history.

At the end of day average in NFL which I'll take top 10 offenses average and so will recruits doesn't mean average in college. He has been part of some explosive offenses in college.

I’m okay with Sark. I think he’s a good OC who got put into an unfortunate situation in terms of following Shannahan as OC. The defense in ATL is awful and Sark has still kept ATL in top 10 offensive rankings for the NFL this year and last. It’s still impressive.

In b4 someone tries to say it’s all because of Matt Ryan and Julio...

He left Washington for USC
