I live in Atlanta. Everyone wants him gone.

Google his name, these are the articles you’ll find:
Should Dan Quinn go all in on Gary Kubiak?

Steve Sarkisian doesn't feel need to validate his coaching to critics
I read up last night and agree. Not a lot of positives for a long while in his career save the first year in Atlanta. Lot worse hires though.

The table below illustrates that in stark terms. The Falcons had worse starting field position, but they were literally worse in every metric you can possibly think of than they were in 2016. They were less productive per drive, less productive overall, and scored far less often. It all added up to nearly 200 fewer points scored, and yet thanks to the defense, they only lost one more game than they did in 2016. That’s pretty incredible.

Of course, the Falcons of 2017 were as unlucky as they were unproductive at times, and it’s not hard to imagine a scenario in which they hit 400 points for the season and enjoy a good year even by their standards. The regression monster bit Atlanta hard, though, as the Falcons made the switch from Kyle Shanahan to Steve Sarkisian. Time will tell if Sark and company can do more in the playoffs, and also in 2018, which will be a pivotal second year for the offensive coordinator.

Oh, and a note on Shanahan: Sark had more talent at his disposal than Shanny did in 2015, so it won’t surprise you to learn that the Falcons scored more points this season than they did two years ago. They did have fewer yards, however.

See you fawkers later. Long day for me. Stayed too long already on here. Always appreciate the insight and discussion. For now count me on the Sark train.

Odd every candidate we interviewed besides Drink (HC job) and Yurcich (loyalty/cushy job) has had some pretty heavy personal baggage. Not sure it means anything specific except we are exploring all angles.
I don't think I am on the Sark "train", but I don't hate it either. It would be a good solid hire...nothing to get excited about..which just seems to be what Pruitt really wants, a plain Jane well executed offense that can eat clock, score a few points, and keep him off the field.

And how has he performed? He was blamed for Bamas loss in the championship game and more than likely he will be fired by Atlanta if we don’t take him from them

So you're saying that because of 1 game that he stepped in to cover and NFL stuff.....ignore the other stuff that says he is good?

If Pruitt doesn’t get this hire right he could find himself being out in a few years. Sark is about to get fired because he’s a terrible play caller. Not sure that’s the route he should go

The offenses he coached at USC and Washington wont line up with your argument.
Was he the OC or head coach there?

And to be honest, I’m not making an argument. I don’t know much about him pre-Bama days, but I just don’t think a guy who sucks at calling plays in the NFL and is about to get fired would be a good hire for us.

Both

Define homerun? If he’s a bad play caller how is he a homerun?
He out up 35 points in the NC game. That loss was on Saban’s defense but redneck bammers never want to blame him for anything. Sark’s offenses at Washington and USC we’re consistently in the top 25 in ppg. Just because things don’t work out in the NFL, doesn’t mean you can’t be a successful play caller in college.

eh. it's two different animals, NFL vs. College. if NFL records mattered, then why would USCe hire Spurrier or Bama hire Saban or USCw hire Pete Carrol etc, etc, etc....

Sark doesn't go over the moon with me. but i'm not angry about hearing that name either. i think Sark would probably be a good fit, stylistically and for this staff, and it brings in a guy that's been a head coach at two programs, been a very good OC at the college level, and that could be a big resource for pruitt.

anyway, i'll say this, there's been other names mentioned in this thing make a lot less sense than Sark would.
