I run whatever the hell the shell station up the street dispenses. Have any of you guys actually experienced any kind of failure because you had some ethanol in your fuel?

Yes, my son borrowed the lawnmower, trimmer and a blower for a final run on his yard year before last and filled them up with ethanol gas AND didn't treat the gas to boot. All of them were screwed up this spring. I know a few guys that have had a lot of trouble from running it in their boats.

You don't want to run ethanol blended gas in anything that sits for extended periods of time, it separates.

I haven't in any modern cars or equipment, but I run no ethanol in my 2 old cars, lawn mower, weed eater, etc. Anything with a carburetor gets no ethanol at my house for 2 reasons: One is that I understand that some seals in older carburetors deteriorate with ethanol, and my 2 old cars and yard equipment sit for extended periods, and ethanol blends evaporate quicker and don't have as much longevity.

Zero ethanol goes into the boat, lawnmower or anything else that uses gas other than the wifes car. If my trucks were gas burners I would try and burn only non-ethanol in them.
Few questions:
What kind of boat you have?
How long have you had it
Do you still love it?
