If he's willing to get better. I already like him better than butchIt's not really much insight. We're just dealing with a new HC finding his way. It's positive that Pruitt is adapting and evolving and not as positive how it's playing out with fans and the media. Given UT's past coaching searches, the process and public perception could have been managed better, but media relations and PR aren't UT's strength.
It’s not like he didn’t know what they were doing, but Mizzou ran RPOs as well as anybody we faced this year and it gave us trouble. He had trouble stopping mizzou because of bad tackling, failure to shed blocks and generally overall putrid effort by the players on the field....not because he didn't know what Mizzou was doing..c'mon man
He's sharing ideas with different offensive minds in CFB. IMO he has a guy that he wants. But is unable to do anything until the season ends.
I think you would agree that hiring a guy straight from high School carries with it more risk than if you hire a seasoned college level or higher veteran. My take is that I'm not sure taking that risk at this point would be a wise move for coach Pruitt at this point. I want coach Pruitt to succeed. I think a cagey veteran offers him the best chance at achieving that success.Dabo benefitted from said exception. I’m hoping it’s not Propst.
So...wait, why all of a sudden are people thinking it's Chaney again? I've been gone a few hours.
that may be the thing that's holding some of this up. Pruitt thinks Friend is every bit as good an OL coach ast Pittman, and Friend and Pruitt have a long history w/each other. If it is Chaney I would take him just for Sam Pittman. Would be nice to have Friend (run Coordinator/ OL), Pittman OL/ TE, move Nieds (TE/ RBS - recruiting***) and then move Weinke to QBs/ or just move on and let Chaney be OC/ QBs....
