You could be corrrect but it doesn’t sound like it. Doug’s history suggest he doesn’t make statements like this without being certain as well.
Maybe. But if he is as tight with Fulmer as people say, then I would say the chances are that he knows.

Why would we still be interviewing if we are 95% and know who it is?

Doesn’t make any sense.

Its Chaney isnt it? Stay puft to the hill?
If it was though why not leak it and try to hurt Ga's offensive recruiting a little?
I'll be honest...................Chaney would make sense to me from everything that has been said.

I still go back to the Bailey commitment and maybe I just am not familiar enough with him to know, but that commitment tells you that a hire has already been made doesnt it? Does Bailey commit at that time to us without a OC? At the very least you would think he would just wait no?

Well, unless I am mistaken, we haven't interviewed anyone since last Friday. I understand not wasting time, but it could be that Pruitt wanted to talk philosophy or that he wanted it to appear that he was interviewing others.

The length of time is just baffling to me, so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that there is a plan.

They asked him this and he gave reasons as to why that could/would still occur. Even stated that is something that has always been a strength of Fulmer.

This is what I am thinking as well. Has there been anything discussed about UGA renewing his contract?

This was one example Doug gave for why interviews could still be occurring.

Just a thought, say that Doug is correct. With the lack of information getting out about this search because of the leak clampdown by UTAD, is it possible that the "interviews" last week were really just information exchanges by coaches on the opposite side of the LOS? Possibly getting ideas on the spread attacks that those coaches run and how it relates to the offensive philosophy of who we may be hiring? The article on Propst's interview/hiring philosophy is what makes me wonder about this.

For those wondering why we are still interviewing when we already have our guy, this is what was given as the reason:

Seems like a waste of time/resources if you just want to make a “smokescreen” or get info on offensive systems.

I don’t think that’s true.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the truth.

That the search is continuing and we haven’t found anyone Pruitt wants to make an offer to.

If that's the case, he may want to look into cloning himself. He's made the statement about wanting a run first, smash mouth type offense but that pipe dream may take four years to develop. He also knows this hire is gonna define his legacy at UT and he's not gonna rush the hire. It'll happen when it happens.

He said that was a possible reason for the interviews

Alternatively, a great opportunity to figure out who's leaking info to which news outlets.

If I were Fulmer and I read through the FOI dump after Currie got fired, I'd want to know who's potentially leaking info in the AD.
