Being a really great defensive coordinator has no bearing on being a great head coach.

I’m not “out” on Pruitt by any means but I don’t see how anyone can say they don’t have doubts.
i get that.

but right now, the only thing we really have to be upset about is the process. not hte hire.

now if you go thru this kind of process and make the wrong hire........siap, but this is the kind of decision you look back on and say "that was the beginning of the end".

but i think we should at least see if it's bad hire first..........

no one should be thrilled with the process though. this has been frustrating.

I see it the longer it goes the more likely he was right.

Nfl guy is done just can't announc makes sense
1) I don’t think NFL teams allow their coaches to interview for other jobs mid season. So while we may be waiting on someone in the NFL to talk to them - it can’t be “done” at this point.

2) if I grant you that an NFL guy is “done” - maybe Pruitt is comfortable enough with Kitchens or Sark to give them the job without a formal interview, even that doesn’t make sense because we’re still interviewing other candidates. Pruitt wouldn’t be wasting his time interviewing Lebby, Yurcich and Briles if he has a guy already in pocket and instead would be spending that time recruiting.

I’m not just talking about the process. The season was a disappointment and so was last year’s recruiting class. There are a lot of reasons to be skeptical.

I would have agreed with 1) until last week when KW interviewed at ga tech

For better or worse he appears to be waiting on an NFL guy. It's the only explanation to the quiet drag out.

If at the end of the day we come out with a Kitchens, Sark or Cooter then I will be very happy. If we don't and we have a clunker then my confidence level in the staff will fall based on this and potential lack of closing on a top 10 class as we expected with this staff of recruiters.

Only way a NFL guy could be done is if it were Sark, Kitchens or Cooter because all 3 have current connections to staff or admin that would allow for personal "real" conversations and gentlemn agreements to take place. Other than that you would be correct. NFL is weird about no official interviews while season is in play

A lot of people don't think that actually happened. Was helping his friend make it look like a good job with the view of an NFL guy wanting it. If he had interviewed he would have been interested and ga tech would have hired him
