Of course. I’m not saying fire him, or he CAN’T get it done. I’m well aware of the context. I’m just saying that if I was grading him on how his first year appears to be headed (to include the 2019 class), I think he grades out as a C.

Of course, oh here, you apparently have to be either an A+ or F-
Well said.

Auburn takes it to a different level. Cam's dad got a new church. Do you not find it the least bit strange that Pappoe does a complete 180 10 min after the Auburn coaches leave? I know we cheat, Auburn just cheats better.

They were willing to invest more in this guy and lie to him about his position. You still have to decide how much you want to invest into particular funds.

I also still have concerns about Pruitt’s temper. Running down players to a reporter at halftime rubs me the wrong way. I can’t help but wonder if that kind of attitude doesn’t have an effect on the decision to roll over against Missouri and Vanderbilt.
No.

Pruitt has a fantastic reputation with his players. One of the best I've ever seen. If any of these kids rolled over against Mizzou and Vanderbilt after the momentum following the Auburn and Kentucky wins, it has very little to do with them being called out privately or publicly.

It's very safe to say this staff knows the kids that rolled over and their futures as contributors to the UT football team are going to be tenuous at best.

agree. a lot of the pining going on is so absolute. that's where i struggle.

Let's ride fawkers. Whatever comes I couldn't ask for a better place to whine, complain, celebrate, or elate. I ain't got a ton of confidence but I got a ton of respect for people this passionate, and that still makes it fun even when it isn't.

God help us all. Until tomorrow

If Pruitt has his guys that he believes in then that truly matters more in the long run. Still may not make him successful.

Calling my shot now. It's Propst post ESD to stave off negative recruiting.

I think he's indecisive because he already knows what he wants and can't make us happy.
well, i think if i heard it correctly, we should have 12-15 guys sign next Wed. so there'll still be plenty of opportunity to negative recruit TN between then and February......

My feeling is it’s going to end up being someone we don’t know about yet. A college OC or assistant that we’ve interviewed but that the media doesn’t know we’ve interviewed.

If we don't have an OC by this weekend for OVs. Then I think its probable that Pruitt has identified someone in the NFL for the gig, imo.
Im starting to think this will be pushed past ESD intentionally (speculating cause that's all we can do). Say he intends to move Friend post signing day but doesnt want to upset the applecart with Wanya or maybe Wright, just feels like a major shuffling is about to happen and it might be wise to get 3/4 of your class locked in first.... only a speculative reason for the length of time this is taking mind you

He’s restarting with an offense that could be very different personnel wise. He had a bad year thankfully, he has Bailey in ‘20

Outside of the OL, I think the offensive personnel will likely be the same. I think Helton did OK. The team as a whole just isn't very good. IMO, it is just difficult to say what has occurred with Helton is a bad look for Pruitt. He did, afterall, get a HC job. He didn't make a lateral move.

Makes no difference what our recruiting class is ranked. Only thing that matters is whether or not Pruitt wins with the guys he brings in. The biggest complaint with Butch was his lack of ability to develop the players once they got here. If Pruitt is truly better at that, it will result in improvement. If he is not, then it won't. Class rankings are fun, but what is the true difference in the #6 ranked class and the #16 class? Just look at the pre-season rankings each year that the "experts" put out there. How often do teams ranked in the pre-season top 10 end up there after the season? And that is ranking actual known commodities, not high school kids that a small percentage of people see on a regular basis.

Develop the kids you bring in, have a few breaks go your way, and win more football games. You do that and recruiting will improve more and more. I am hopeful that Pruitt is the guy to get Tennessee back to competing for championships, but I have no idea whether or not he actually is. He has done some things well, and some other things not so well. I believe Fulmer is going to give him time to get this thing back on track, which is important. This program needs stability more than anything else.

There does not seem to be a plan in place

I would think (and sometimes my thinking may not be clear) that if we were hiring an NFL guy and had to be patient, then the AD would use Hubbs or Low to put those messages out there. They don't have to say who. Just get it out that it will be a process. But that's just me.
