Kamara, Hurd, and Kelly are just as good if not better than any 3RBs at any school while he was here. You can say he’s replaceable which i disagree with but we have downgraded. London was bad and Banks can’t hold on to the ball so far. Those are with weinke
Uhhh? Gillespie was here when we signed Banks. And Kelly was a good running back...he was also a 3 star. I had no issue with Gillespie and equally no ILLUSIONS. If we land Gray, at worst Weinke is holding serve at that position.

I don’t think that’s true.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the truth.

That the search is continuing and we haven’t found anyone Pruitt wants to make an offer to.
The question is, is he not offering because he knows they won't accept? Or, has he truly not found anyone he likes.

1) I don’t think NFL teams allow their coaches to interview for other jobs mid season. So while we may be waiting on someone in the NFL to talk to them - it can’t be “done” at this point.

2) if I grant you that an NFL guy is “done” - maybe Pruitt is comfortable enough with Kitchens or Sark to give them the job without a formal interview, even that doesn’t make sense because we’re still interviewing other candidates. Pruitt wouldn’t be wasting his time interviewing Lebby, Yurcich and Briles if he has a guy already in pocket and instead would be spending that time recruiting.

In regards to 1. I think all they have to do is request permission.

Hubbs was on the zone in Nashville. Here are the takeaways.

1. Briles is off the table. Doesn't know why he hasn't signed with FSU though.

2. Lebby has told people he won't be at UT

3. Yurcich was the top candidate of those interviewed, but the longer it drags out the less likely.

4. If it isn't Yurcich he doesn't have an idea what direction the search is going.

5. As @LA Vol has hinted this is way more about personality fit with Pruitt than scheme.

6. Pruitt is looking for a guy he trusts to run his offense, whatever that is.

7. Wether we finish about 15 or stay in the top 15 of recruiting depends on February this year.

8. UT will have 5-7 spots left heading into January

9. We are solid with our existing commits but that won't put us above 15.

10. Not having an OC is ok for the current committments, but guys like Gray would like to know the OC.

LMAO. The conjecture and baseless speculation on this Board can be summed up in one gif:

I think many of us have given UT the benefit of the doubt only to end up with people like Dooley, Jones, Sunseri, and Scott...............to name a few.

No, it's not embarrassing nationally. It's only embarrassing folks like you with a "me me me now now now" mindset and no patience. We all want a new OC hired asap but ASSUMING Pruitt doesn't know what he's doing or that he's striking out left and right is ridiculous. Stop with the weak mindset. Stop caring about what others think.
Ron coming with the heat this morning. Keep it up.

Just because it's an offensive coach doesn't mean opposing coaches won't use that on my defensive player. They sell it as a systemic problem, how Pruitt as not being ready for the primetime. If you don't think they're using the optics of this against us, you're not looking very hard.

I believe that is an absolutely ridiculous take. But if you think so then it must be.

Since there is so much talk about fit in this hire. Look for underwhelming IMO and expect the play is on long term intangibles.

I’m not just talking about the process. The season was a disappointment and so was last year’s recruiting class. There are a lot of reasons to be skeptical.
You can’t blame Pruitt for last years recruiting class. He had been on the job for all of 2 months when the second signing period had come and gone. I wouldn’t say that beating two ranked teams is a disappointing season. Yeah we lost to Vandy, but you and I both could see that a lot of our players didn’t care about going to a bowl game. Which is an unfortunate product of the previous regime.

I enjoy your post, but give Pruitt a break. Let him set his standard and get rid of the stench Butch left.

I stand corrected. I thought weinke signed banks

I don't think I can upvote this post enough.

Just a spoiled, whiny, unrealistic fanbase, unfortunately. The fact that Fulmer/Pruitt aren't leaking anything is making the unwashed masses even more unbearable. They want an OC HIRED NOW, GOT-DAMMIT!

You are naive if you don't think opposing coaches are using this against us with offensive players, defensive players, even other candidates for the offensive coordinators job. This is a cut throat business and other coaches use whatever they can to place doubt in a recruit' s mind. Stability is a huge factor for any recruit and if you can portray a shaky situation at a place you're recruiting against, it huge factor. That's why it's crucial for coach Pruitt show improvement next year. If he doesn't opposing coaches will be breaking out the hot seat talk.
