I’m amazed people are so surprised. If you polled a majority of OC’s out there—no shock but they are want to go where playmakers are—can’t make chicken s out of chicken salad ya’ll. Pruitt has to make this job attractive by recruiting playmakers on the roster—just not enough talent to entice a better OC. Money only goes so far.

I’m just saying I don’t know enough to say either way.

1) Do you remember all the rumors about Jeremy Pruitt prior to Tennessee hiring him? That he was a hot-head and the only guy that could reign him in was Saban? He didn’t make a lot of friends at FSU and UGA.
2) He ran Helton off with the way he treated him. You can say Helton didn’t need to be here anyway and wasn’t effective - and I would absolutely agree - but the fact is Tyson was miserable about the way he was overruled on his offense and yelled at publicly.

I’m not suggesting I know for a fact that we’re having a hard time filling the position because of these things and they may certainly be false and overblown. I’m just saying we don’t have anything to discredit it either.

If he didn't make any friends at UGA or FSU then why did guys like Charles Kelly and Will Friend follow him here?

Not exactly the best publicity, IMO. This may speak to why OK St. is rarely competing for anything significant. Big time coaching is not exactly the industry where "work-life" balance is a priority topic.

Pruitt is demanding and wants things done a certain way. He has a strong personality and he's a new HC. There are certain dynamics already in place at UT. That's why fit is so important. Not everyone is going to mesh with Pruitt's personality or the group dynamic. One-and-done coordinators set us back. We need harmony and stability for a rebuild, and if Pruitt doesn't hire someone who can provide that, we'll be going through this again next year. That will be even more detrimental.

North Carolina just got a lot harder to recruit. Mack Brown with two very good coordinator hires. Longo and the Army DC. They will be good fast. Both guys known for making more from less

agreed. siap yesterday or maybe this morning? can't remember, but this is not a hire about style. it's all about fit.

and LA i agree about some continuity on offense...it's been a while since we've had that. like a long while.
