It appears that the only difference between this search and the last head coaching search is that we’re not being publicly turned down. This time, the top OC candidates are quietly taking other jobs while we appear to making no progress.

Makes absolutely 0 sense if it is Friend, no reason in that case to not announce and tout up his resume of accomplishments even mention how he knows the system, year two see's substantial growth, very much involved in '18 yada yada yada...

Has to be an NFL guy or someone in the playoffs, otherwise just delaying is silly and poor managed.... in that case, probably is Friend.

Makes no sense not to announce if that's the case.

Have all of you already forgotten how quickly CJP put a staff together last year when he was hired? He pulled together a group of experienced and respected coaches with excellent reputations as recruiters. I don't understand those who think no one wants to come here all of the sudden. I expect that the person who ends up in the the OC role will be the same kind of coach.

Opinions might have changed about him after a year as the HBC, who knows?

Of course he is. Last chance for a ring.

it's for the kids
With today's outrage culture I'm surprised Locksley's hiring didn't raise more eyebrows than it did. I know it's only Maryland, but they were in the news earlier this year for the player death so there were more eyeballs on them than usual.

He has kind of a checkered past. At New Mexico, he punched one of his assistant coaches, was sued for age and sex discrimination by a former secretary, and his son's friend got busted for DUI in a car registered to him. The lawsuit was dropped, but in this day and age it seems like the result doesn't matter. Plus he was 2-26.

Are they really that respected? Someone close to UGA said Smart considers our staff a joke and full of coaching rejects.

This can't be a good sign. They just called me and asked if I would like to interview for the OC position.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. The reason why Pruitt hasn't announced the OC is due to the backlash when we all find out it's Will Friend.
