Alabama promotes Enos

Am I being immaturely demanding to think that the coaching search has a bad look at this point -- like fail, fail, fail?

That's the perception of a lot of people here, but it's not true. This is nothing like the fiasco over the HC search last year where everything was getting leaked. Nobody knows who Pruitt has offered / not offered or what his plan is for the search. Everything you hear is either info about coaches that people on this board wanted getting hired somewhere else, or stuff people made up.

In short, Pruitt may or may not be handling this well, but we really don't know for sure either way. We'll just have to wait and see...

And if their offense makes drastic improvement it's an opportunity to be considered as HC.

Did you see FSU play last year? Their OL problems are worse than UT's, and Briles isn't ready to lead a major program anyway.

I would bet Pruitt has his OC and is waiting for the NFL or bowls to be completed. Despite all of the hand wringing on this thread, the world is still turning.

It will be someone on staff getting promoted. No OC is going to come here without bringing in his own guys, and no way is pruitt hiring a whole new offensive staff.

Its going to be Friend

Was always going to be Friend
Makes absolutely 0 sense if it is Friend, no reason in that case to not announce and tout up his resume of accomplishments even mention how he knows the system, year two see's substantial growth, very much involved in '18 yada yada yada...

Has to be an NFL guy or someone in the playoffs, otherwise just delaying is silly and poor managed.... in that case, probably is Friend.

Yep.

He didn’t have trouble hiring his first staff. As far as we know he got who he wanted.

Maybe Briles took the FSU job because Pruitt didn't want to hire him.
All indications are that Briles is going to FSU
Maybe Briles wasn't offered the UT job...who knows. also may have come down to conditions on Briles taking the job and Pruitt wouldn't give in(like coaches he wanted to bring)

Have all of you already forgotten how quickly CJP put a staff together last year when he was hired? He pulled together a group of experienced and respected coaches with excellent reputations as recruiters. I don't understand those who think no one wants to come here all of the sudden. I expect that the person who ends up in the the OC role will be the same kind of coach.

Pruitt isn't going to let Will Friend go, period. Bill Belichick could offer to come here as OC under the condition he could bring his own OL coach and Pruitt would say no.
