Leverage. The schools don’t have it.Butch is going to do everything he can to squeeze every dime out of Tennessee that he can get.
By the way, does it seem to anyone else that all these universities must have the dumbest lawyers in the world. Football coaches who get fired for doing a lousy job keep the school bent over a log and
collect millions and millions from them. it seems like these "contracts" always means the school gets
screwed when some headphone-wearing loser can't produce a winning program.
we are talking about FOOTBALL COACHES here, not world class brain surgeons. if there are any
lawyers on the board that can explain why these "contracts" can't have stronger performance
clauses i'm sure a lot of people might appreciate an explanation.
sorry i cannot wish good luck to Botch! Not after the way he spit in our face when he came here with Bama! Screw Botch!
If the contract copies that were posted or linked here are correct that is the case. Of course the nay sayers simply replied that this is just how it's done and everyone knows it. I'd take the SOB to court to end the pay out or at least reduce it significantly. From what I understand, UT would be able to reduce payout if it can prove that his pay structure is artificially low in order to keep UT on the hook. I wish I could remember the article on how that all works.
Remember this. when you get your permit you can have an adult and one passenger in the car, I think . Better ask you folks to be sureAgreed.
I believe that he genuinely wanted to be here, and be the coach of the Vols. I had high hopes for Butch. I knew he was coming from a different situation, but I wanted him to succeed. Even when he made bone-headed coaching mistakes I just chalked it up to inexperience. When he didn't go for two and blamed it on 'the Chart', I knew he was over his head and his tenure was doomed. I for one would be glad for him to take another job. I can't stand the thoughts of him working for the Bammers...
You sir are full of sh**. If I got paid what he did to suck at my job I would be happy and wouldn't kick the golden goose in the ass. What would you have him do?
He was on the team that won, so he got to smoke a cigar.
Ya'lls hatred of a guy that you loved a mere 3 years ago is pretty childish.
I do wish him well. There is no doubt he tried harder to be successful in his role at HC here than pretty much anyone posting on VN does at their chosen profession. Obviously it didn't work out but for you guys to carry this much hatred around more than 12 months after he is gone borders on obsession.
Why do you assume so much? If he had said yes, I would ask a follow on question.Nah it seems like your thinking is questioning that guy’s morals.
You can frame it how you want but you’re not trying to understand anything. The way it’s coming off is you’re trying to take a better than you approach.
And again his feelings towards Butch has nothing to do with his feelings towards Freeze, they’re two separate things, to compare one to the other is stupid. The fact that you either can’t or won’t see that is a problem you should probably resolve soon.
So Saban doesnt make bone headed coaching mistakes ? How about that kick 6 in 2013 ?Agreed.
