OC for Locksley!
Sources: Butch Jones could be on the move - FootballScoop

The curriculum at Nick Saban’s Fellowship for Former Head Coaches stretches for three years. That’s how long Lane Kiffin stayed before taking the Florida Atlantic job, and it’s also how long Mike Locksley stayed before becoming the head coach at Maryland.

But former Tennessee head coach Butch Jones could be up and out of Tuscaloosa after just one year, as sources told FootballScoop on Monday that Jones has been offered an associate head coach position on Locksley’s new Maryland staff.

Sources also indicated Jones’ position would include oversight over the offense, though it is not likely to include an offensive coordinator title.

Nobody who they name as OC, Locksley will call plays. I heard Butch would basically be OC just not in name and definitely not in duty

Agreed.

I believe that he genuinely wanted to be here, and be the coach of the Vols. I had high hopes for Butch. I knew he was coming from a different situation, but I wanted him to succeed. Even when he made bone-headed coaching mistakes I just chalked it up to inexperience. When he didn't go for two and blamed it on 'the Chart', I knew he was over his head and his tenure was doomed. I for one would be glad for him to take another job. I can't stand the thoughts of him working for the Bammers...

Inexperience would only be an excuse if he hadn't been a head coach for several years and multiple schools before coming here. NO chart has you going for 1 up 12 at that point in the game....NONE!!!!!!!!

No but you did ask him a question that you know has nothing to do with Butch Jones. Why even bring it up? So what if the guy supported the hiring of Freeze? One doesn't have to do with the other.
Just trying to understand the moral ground of a vn poster

sorry i cannot wish good luck to Botch! Not after the way he spit in our face when he came here with Bama! Screw Botch!
He spit in our face well before he went to Bama. I don’t hate the guy, but I don’t believe he’s a good man who just wasn’t quite up to the job here....he freaking ran it into the ditch all while destroying the program’s culture. Not gonna hate on him, but sure as hell ain’t gonna wish him well either.

If so UT should argue the clause in his contract of seeking comparable employment. Two stops at $35 each does not sound like he is honoring that.

I am sure our AD is all over this, with the same thoroughness, tenacity, and attention to detail that epitomizes the UTAD.

Soooo ... they don't want him as OC? Locksley just wants to keep him as an "intern", more or less?
Sounds like they want Tennessee to keep paying his salary while he helps with the offense. If they name him as an OC then that means they have to pay him more. Butch is dumb
