Watched a top 10 plays from this weekend on one of the ESPN channels while I was working out today... They showed a clip from the UT vs Gonzaga game and figured it would be the Admiral three.... NOPE, it was their guy blocking Ponz's shot... yep, we beat the #1 team yesterday, but the top 10 play they show is them blocking one of our shots... SMH... maybe ESPN does hate us?

It was a pretty nice play...

Of overrated so called talent. We have had zero defensive talent excluding Barnett and Sutton. Look at the rest nothing to note. On offense yes some talent but of course shi!!y coaching gets you shi!!y results. Do not be fooled by the top 7 classes because they have and did fool us.

Yea gaulden and Reeves maybin sucked too.

Well despite the fact we beat them it was a play definitely worthy of a hi-lite reel...

Hard to be mad about that. That block was absolutely savage and should of been top 10.

and I think he clobbered Pons and it was a foul.

No it absolutely wasn't

So would you say he recruited these players that turned out to be all time greats that were wanted by other teams?

Uh, Hurd and Malone were looked at pretty highly.

Look, Butch sucked and I wish he was never hired. But he recruited some all time Vols and built a couple of great rosters here.

.

Ponz was way too ambitious. He could have dunked it on the guy if he didn't try to take off from 20 feet away. But one guy jumped vertical while the other jumped horizontal. Not that impressive considering. Looked brutal, but I think anyone on the court would have been capable of blocking that same dunk attempt.

And he fouled ponz. He didn't remain vertical. His arm came over and hit ponz in the head.

Plenty of talent in those classes. Enough to field the only good team we’ve had in over ten years.

That team should have played in the SEC championship. Too much talent on the 16 team. Imagine that talent with any semblance of good coaching. That team won in spite of Botch.

Those classes made up a prettt good roster with a lot of nfl caliber players.
So out of 125 kids recruited over 5 yrs and we (between both of us) have named 10 maybe 12. And I will even go to 20 and that is a pretty good return right? I am not counting the ones that transferred that got some sort of coaching unlike from that turd and ended up better. And Alabama and other schools getting that many in 2 yrs. That should sum up you 2 top 7 classes by Mr. Jones.
