Here come the twitter activists

Tracy has been an advocate against sexual violence in collegiate sports for years, speaking at campuses across the country. She, herself a survivor of sexual assault at the hands of multiple athletes, does good, necessary work. It’d great if we could avoid diminishing her because she happens to be saying true things about a person we considered for a job. Let’s be above it, shall we?

Did she used to do adult films? Looks familiar.

Doing better at what Brenda? Personally I'm not interested in winning the PC Championship of the United States. I would, however, like to have a damn winning season. To my knowledge, Kendall Briles was/has never charged by authorities or sanctioned by the NCAA. I have not seen or heard of any real proof (other than hearsay) he was involved in any cover up or had any knowledge of such. It really doesn't matter what you, the media or the PC warriors infecting this land think, beieve or allege and it damn sure isn't a good reason to block a man from pursuing his career.

But how do you really feel?

I take it you don’t know who she is
yeah she spoke to the team last year I believe. Horrible things may have happened to her but that doesn’t make every word she days infallible. Just because she was victimized 15 years ago means she can accuse UT and Kendall Briles of enabling sexual assault without any kind of scrutiny?

I did not know what she had been through and I feel for her. NO ONE should have to go through that. It doesn't change my belief on convicting people in the court of public opinion, with no real proof and possibly ruining their lives. If he is guilty of of what some allege, then at this point it's between him and God. Until there is actual proof with which he can be sanctioned/charged, leave the man to pursue his career and live his life.

What did she say in that statement that was incorrect? Briles hasn’t taken accountability for anything that happened there, in fact he even defended his father. She also spoke to him after the meeting at Houston

Coaching football is not a right, it’s a privilege. Nobody(that I know of) is saying he should be thrown in jail

she also said Tennessee has a history. The only well documented court case in recent history for Tennessee says differently.

In civil court. That in no way admits guilt. Does it look bad? Yes it does. But there was no admission of guilt more of "here's a bunch of money. Now give half of it to your lawyers and be quiet about it."
Agree, but as i said it’s still a history because it was filed. And iirc 5 or 6 more girls came forward during that time. Does it mean they’re guilty? No but as you said it’s a bad look. And afterwards the administration said “they’d do better” which is what she was referring to in part of her tweet

I get that, but as everyone has been saying other than him working at Baylor at the time what evidence points towards Kendall? If he was in any way shape or form apart of it then keep him away. Until that comes out, if it happened, then he's fine to seek employment without that bs hanging over his head. He should be judged by his coaching ability. Not the sin of his father.

It’s simple, really. It doesn’t matter who this Brenda person is — the point people are making is that we shouldn’t be making a hire based on anyone’s Twitter virtue-signaling, which I generally agree with. And if Tennessee’s “history” she’s talking about is settling a Title IX case, then her point is particularly unpersuasive. Of course UT settled the case — the only other alternative was to litigate it for years to an ultimate conclusion, which isn’t much of a choice. And the highest profile allegation at the center of that case was the AJ Johnson situation, and we all know how that ended up when it actually went before a real court.

I think even potentially being part of it makes it a pretty big deal and one any university should consider heavily. And I agree, he’s 100% fine to seek employment but that doesn’t mean UT or any other school or administration cant reject him for that reason instead of coaching.

Defending his father directly after his firing isn’t a good look either

In a way, this search has gone on so long that I now respect Pruitt and Fulmer for not giving a damn about the pressure from an impatient fanbase.

I still have confidence that we make a solid hire.
