Why all the panic that it’s not Briles? I’ve been in and out tonight but last I’ve seen is we dropped down to explaining why Vandy’s OC is a good fit for us. Is this just fear and panic settling in?

Take a good look at Vanderbilt. They aren’t winning the SEC, but they are having good success for Vandy and have been taking Big Orange names the last few years. Look at everything about that staff and program other than Ludwig — defensive coaching, recruiting prowess (staff and program appeal), resources, etc. — and tell me why UT doesn’t have the advantage in every single category (except maybe current roster, which will change with recruiting). Ludwig is doing enough at Vandy to go to bowl games and whoop that Tennessee tail. I think he could do fine at UT.

So we haven't been turned down by anybody and we're already convinced that Lilly is on his way up lol.

Freeze wasn't coming here, ever. All the noise was from his camp, and now he's at Liberty. Lindsay was never an option because Pruitt didn't want him.

Enos hasn't been promoted yet, Briles hasn't gone to FSU, nothing has been said about Yurcich turning us down (unless you count FSU 247, and they thought we offered Briles...)

Maybe let's take a step back before we assume everyone is hanging up the phone.

If he’s mentioned as an actual candidate then we should all fight over him. Right now, he’s off the radar though

Any guesses as to the other UT staff members that are sitting in on these OC "interviews"? I hope Osovet is one. Would be awesome for him to get to pick the brains of some of the top offensive minds in college football. Just a thought...
