To be fair, someone else that *might know, made a comment, paraphrasing:
We had an off campus interview yesterday (obviously Briles) but another candidate received a second interview in his home state.

I have no idea who the other candidate is and don't care as long as they're truly capable.

Whether they offered 1, 2, or 3, or any of them turned us down, but UT is still moving down a list of candidates, and ultimately we'll never fully know who the interviewed, in what order, or who the offered, and who they didn't, but given their foreknowledge of Helton being up for the WKU position, I can't imagine that Fulmer or Pruitt sat on their laurels and didn't start reaching out to the top candidate(s) as soon as possible.

I think the main focus of the tweet is common sense. If you nix Freeze because of baggage and negativity, that can be used against you, how could you turn straight to Briles and hire him.

Maybe Freeze was nixed because more digging revealed more problems but the Briles vetting was a no further issues?

What is going on with Briles. People on TOS acting like Pruitt blew up the deal over friend....any info...and looks like we are interviewing UCF OC
