Not the point. I said he was mentioned under oath as having witnessed it. You said it was false. It was not false. I don't know if he saw it or not. Again, not the point. Schiano sucks. He's awful. We didn't want him. The fact that he may have witnessed the most disgusting thing imaginable made him unhireable. Again, this isn't hard, and it has absolutely no relationship to us wanting Briles, especially when one was to be head coach, the other a coordinator who was never accused of anything even close to what Schiano was linked to.Don’t forget the part where that was 3rd hand information where the 2nd hand party said it never happened.
Kind of important.
It was the fact that it was even out there to the extent that it was brought up in court. That was just the straw that broke the camel's back of a fanbase that did not want Butch 2.0 chosen by Haslam that was going to ruin the program after being promised that an actual search would be done to get the best available coach.Don’t forget the part where that was 3rd hand information where the 2nd hand party said it never happened.
Kind of important.
Are you really trying to equate a coach telling players that white women like football players (which most assume is true) with a coach being mentioned in a court of law as knowing that another coach was raping boys on campus? And also comparing a head coaching position to a coordinator where these are concerned? I'm speed reading so I may have missed something.

Unfortunately for him there was enough suspicion by enough people to have him linked to the situation. There are plenty of guilty people walking around because there is not any proof. If I have enough to cause me to be suspicious, I am not going to hire them. He may be completely innocent and managed to not know what was happening. Truth is, he was not valuable enough for someone to take a chance on him especially a school that just got through with a lawsuit. Having Meyer as a character witness was not helpful.I'm not making any connection between HC and OC.
Being mentioned in a court of law does not equate to proof of guilt. No proof exists that Schiano knew what was happening.
Where did I say it was a fact? I said he was accused. He was. You’re putting words in my mouth. And I’ve said that he would have been terrible over and over again. The penn state stuff just made it worse. Again, not hardThat is 100% the point. You can’t just look overlook things that happened because it doesn’t support what you want to be true.
No one (at least not me) is arguing that Schiano doesn’t indeed suck, but to push something as fact and leave out important details of serial child molestation to try and paint someone as something in order to validate your opinion on him is pretty ****ed up
Just be honest and say you didn’t want him because he would have been an awful hire. You’re correct, he would have been terrible hire. I didn’t want him either.
I'm not saying it's a fact. You clearly aren't listening to me. He's a crappy coach. He's awful. That's why we didn't want him. The fact that he was mentioned as witnessing the worst scandal in football history under oath made him unhireable. This is not hard.
And no, you can't lump everyone together. That's ridiculous.
It's not about me, the media will lump us all together if the hire is made.
And you are clearly not listening to me either. I agree he's a crappy coach, but the story was about how UT fans outraged over Schiano's ties to the Penn State scandal stopped him from being hired. The story was not that UT fans thought he was a crappy coach. You are failing to see the outside perspective.
