In Tennessee OC search, watch for Oklahoma State OC since 2013, Mike Yurcich, 43. OSU has had four 10 win seasons with Yurcich. In 2017 OSU was first Big 12 team to have 4000-yard passer, two 1000-yard receivers and 1000-yard rusher. He was GA at Indiana 2 years (2003-04).

His boss probably suggested using UT as a good way to get a raise.

This article has some good information, including Kendal's inclusion in a Title IX lawsuit and information that multiple coaches within the Baylor program knew what was going on and actively helped Art impede investigators.

UH sends wrong message in hiring Kendal Briles

OMG. This is both racist and sexist:

"Do you like white women? Because we have a lot of them at BAYLOR and they LOVE football players," Briles told a Dallas area recruit, the lawsuit alleged.

Three players from the Houston area, who now play in other programs, say that when Kendal recruited them he made mention of female students at the university being very available to football players.

If we're tepid on Freeze due to him being an un-self-aware weirdo, there's no way in hell we hire Briles.

Wasn't that accepted in a court of law and not ruled as inadmissible as hearsay?...edit: that he was told not that he saw
I'm not a lawyer, but my very layman's understanding was that "hearsay" is anything you're told outside of the court that is an attempt to use as evidence of something. McQueary claimed Tom Bradley told him at some point that it was Schiano. Bradley and Schiano both deny.

Whether it's legally hearsay is another question, but it certainly seems to be something based entirely on second-hand information (that the second-hand source disputes).

In my mind it was still enough to justify not hiring Schiano, but I can't possibly maintain that stance and also think it's okay to hire Briles no matter how innovative an offensive mind he is.

Yeah that article was enough for me to pull the plug. Rape is rape whether it's happening kids, women, or men. Next to murder, it's the most horrible crime you can commit. And while I sometimes think we get to high and mighty about other people's sins there's a clear line to draw here. I don't want anyone who enabled rape coaching at my university. Period.

It would be hard to go with him if you turned down Freeze because of the backlash from the media over taking him and not Schiano. Are there any good coaches without baggage?

Refer to the article linked above.

The idea of a university that just went through a nasty Title IX process hiring a coach named in a Title IX lawsuit, along with reasonable belief that he knew about really atrocious goings-on at a university, strikes me as ludicrous.

For the record, I agree (and said as much earlier) that there is no way we are hiring Kendal Briles. The contract situation doesn’t make sense, and I also agree that UT isn’t going to go for the optics.

I just don’t know that I buy he’s that much of a monster, although it is really unbecoming to see comments attributed to him about women being “available,” even though I’m quite certain that’s part of the recruiting pitch everywhere (even if only implicitly, which I doubt).

But there is a difference as Briles is at least considered a good coach where schiano is not by most. Its evident after no one has still yet to hire him.

Pardon my ignorance, as I didn't read the whole thing, but what makes it racist and sexist?

The whole do you like white women bit. That plays to a stereotype that black men are after white women and also to the stereotype that white women are after wallets (jocks with pro options tend to be successful) and large penises (another stereotype).
