I'll take chaney in a heart beat

My only problem with Chaney is his penchant for throwing long in short yardage situations. It’s good for catching opponents off guard when you run like 80% of the time in those situations, but he seems to do it so often that the book has got to be out on him.

I know it's not a popular opinion around here, but I'm not the biggest fan of Fulmer being the AD. Just because a guy can coach, doesn't mean he can run an athletic department. My opinion hasn't really been affected by the possibility that Fulmer blocked Freeze. I'd like to think that it's possible to have a career AD brought in that isn't a stooge to the BOT, but maybe, that's not realistic.

I don't disagree with anyone here saying things like "Fulmer loves the program." I'm just of the position that someone's passion for a job or task can still come up short if the skills and experience aren't there. I also worry about Fulmer's ability to help the other sports, especially since basketball may become our more successful program if Pruitt can't stick the landing. No proof yet that Fulmer's made any huge mistakes (though I would have fired Holly and made a splash hire to put us right back up there with UCONN), but I've always felt uncomfortable with the hire.

I am a Fulmer fan so I disagree. But I have no problem with your concerns. I wish all could post their concerns re coaches and players as you have, without personal insults and final judgements about whoever you have a concern about,

Chaney isn't going to leave GA and come here unless Kirby is going another direction.
Chaney fits the "power run with deep vertical threats" offensive philosophy to a T. If there is some reason Kirby doesn't want him, or he's upset about no longer coaching QBs, or no matter the reason, I'd love to have Chaney back. Our offense was dangerous with him. He's a great OC.

lolol, it does not. Its in relation to you avatar? Do you do screen printing here in Knox?

Oh, no! I got that from a book by Naomi Klein in the late 90s. An anti-sweatshop labor thing that is kind of ironic now given that UT is a Nike school. When I first started following UT football messageboards, I was listening to a lot of Rage Against the Machine.

Chaney loves TN and was not happy last offseason about not coaching QBs because Smart didn't want to lose Coley as Coley is how they are landing so many south Florida studs
Chaney was interested in the job before Pruitt hired Helton.

I still have my reservations about Chaney because his playcalling...just my opinion...didn't make a lot of sense at times. The offense would be struggling and then finally get momentum going with the run game, they would be heading into field goal range, grabbed another badly needed 1st down on the ground, and then he'd chuck it to the endzone. That was obviously more of a problem with lesser talent like Simms compared to Bray...where his arm could overcome things. The UGA fans I'm around have been complaining about his playcalling all season. Never doubted him as a coach and I think his time at Arkansas and UGA has made his offensive schemes much better in regards to running the ball. I would still rather have Enos, but the offense would be ok under Chaney.

I remember when Chaney was at UT, there were daily calls for him to be tarred and feathered. What a difference a few years makes.
From who? His offense was the only bright spot of the Dooley years. Crazy exciting to watch Bray throw the ball all over the place and CP run 'round the entire UGA defense.
