***not an insider disclaimer*** but i did hear from someone who is good friends with a big booster that this was blocked by Fulmer as some are saying... I saw the message screen shots and he was unhappy with Fulmer's actions to say the least. unreal. i honestly thought he'd be willing to do what needed to be done to win big here... talk about a deflating realization.

I would feel a whole heck of a lot better if Fulmer blocked it than some suit. If he blocked it then there's some stuff out there. He knows where the bones are buried as he said

They haven’t had freeman all year and a lot of injuries on the OL, plus when you’re playing from behind all year because your defense can’t stop a nose bleed, you kind of have too.

I'm a Saints fan, so I know their deficiencies. Sark definitely isn't the issue there but, I still aint crazy about him.

I know it's not a popular opinion around here, but I'm not the biggest fan of Fulmer being the AD. Just because a guy can coach, doesn't mean he can run an athletic department. My opinion hasn't really been affected by the possibility that Fulmer blocked Freeze. I'd like to think that it's possible to have a career AD brought in that isn't a stooge to the BOT, but maybe, that's not realistic.

I don't disagree with anyone here saying things like "Fulmer loves the program." I'm just of the position that someone's passion for a job or task can still come up short if the skills and experience aren't there. I also worry about Fulmer's ability to help the other sports, especially since basketball may become our more successful program if Pruitt can't stick the landing. No proof yet that Fulmer's made any huge mistakes (though I would have fired Holly and made a splash hire to put us right back up there with UCONN), but I've always felt uncomfortable with the hire.

i don't think we can say that's true. we've only been talking about the same 3-4 candidates for over a week.

likely there are others on his list. especially if he cooled on Lindsey and isn't sure about Freeze.

i doubt they're sitting around looking at each other wondering what to do.

i think we're on the same page basically.

i just don't blame anyone for thinking what they think given the information that was presented. it's not unreasonable, based on that, to think this was all screwed up by TN, in some way shape or form, even believing that pruitt and fulmer didn't have much of a list from the jump.

there wasn't anyone trumpenting the "pruitt's not even interested in Freeze" tune. at best that was presented as a guess as to a possible reason why nothing had happened as quickly as some thought/reported/predicted it would.

that's all i'm saying.

That's probably one of the best question of the last two days. Really is.

Being completely transparent here and staying up late/getting up early and looking at what I have said/offered the last two days. I question whether it's as bad as it has looked.

I wonder if there was ever going to be a sign off on Freeze. If there wasn't then why interview Freeze? If you look at the issues of the last two recent head coaching searches (I know HC searches and OC searches are different). But with the last two HC searches, not putting Gruden to bed early was a huge mistake. At Butch Jones' introductory presser, Dave Hart had to answer Gruden questions. Should have never happened. This last disaster of a search Gruden dominated the month of November and the possibility of him coming was never real.

So if Freeze isn't/wasn't a reality then why let it become the story. As an athletic department set the narrative. In other words put it to bed if you aren't hiring him. You have the opportunity to do that. To me there's the dysfunction and it could have be avoided if Freeze wasn't realistic.

Because it wasn't put to bed then the assumption is that Freeze was "the guy". And those close to Freeze are obviously talking plenty as his moves have been known. He's talked to Tennessee, Auburn, FSU, and is going to talk to Liberty making the narrative that Freeze is the hottest name out there in the OC pool.

Hear hear, Hubbs!! Now, that’s worth $9.99 (although I don’t pay it)! That’s what makes you one of the best in the business. This is spot on and I mentioned it earlier this morning. The AD knows the fanbase has a ton of smoke from places that Freeze is the top target. If he isn’t and we were never really going to hire him, then make a statement that he is not on our board and will not be hired. Gives the perception that our AD and administration know exactly what they are doing. Instead trash gets thrown around that higher ups are blocking the hire, etc etc, andthe fanbase is ready to riot again if Freeze isn’t hired. It isn’t that hard really.

Replace Matt Ryan with JG, Julio friggin Jones with Calloway, their OL for a far worse OL...yeah sounds like he will really knock it out of the park. Their passing offense is so good because they always play from behind like you said and because of the personnel. I have seen nothing tn terms of creativity and that is one thing Pruitt is looking for. Hard pass.

I am not done. I never said he was a pedophile. I only said you cannot dismiss the story because your experience was different. I think an accusation like this needs to be investigated. We have all done things that we are not proud of and you have been very forthcoming about your own past, I think, because you hope someone takes it to heart and maybe avoids some of the tribulations that you had. I admire that. In this case, however, you have completely dismissed the possibility that it happened and I still have not read where one person has accused him of being a pedophile.
